Housing drive connection for a constant velocity joint
11655858 · 2023-05-23 · ·

A constant velocity joint for use in a vehicle and a method of mounting a constant velocity joint including a splined shaft. The constant velocity joint also includes an O-ring gland, an inner race, an outer race, rolling elements, and a boot. The splined shaft of the constant velocity joint transmits torque from a splined hub of a second rotating element.

Universal coupler with coupler holder and driving coupler elastically combined with each other

A universal coupler includes: a driving shaft, a coupler holder, driving coupler, a driving coupling pin, and an elastic member. The driving shaft has a driving shaft a first pin hole. The coupler holder includes a bore, a separation prevention member that partially blocks the bore, and a coupling groove formed in the bore. The driving coupler includes a spherical portion that is located in the bore and in contact with the separation prevention member, a shaft insertion portion formed through the spherical portion, and a second pin hole that penetrates the spherical portion. The driving coupling pin is insertable into the driving pin hole, and has an end insertable into the coupling groove. The elastic member applies elasticity to the coupler holder in a direction that urges the spherical portion of the driving coupler against the separation prevention member.

Method of manufacturing outside joint member

A method of manufacturing an outside joint member, the outside joint member including a cup portion in a bottomed tubular shape and a shaft portion that is a shaft-like portion extending from a bottom portion of the cup portion and that has a spline shaft having an outer peripheral surface on which spline teeth are formed, includes forging a forming material to form a shape of the cup portion and a shape of the spline shaft on the shaft portion simultaneously using a forging die.

A drive train connector assembly includes a first connecting structure and a second connecting structure. The first connecting structure has an attachment protrusion with first and second edges. The first edge extends in a first direction. The second edge extends in a second direction. Both directions are perpendicular to the rotational axis. The first and second directions define a first acute angle therebetween. The second connecting structure defines recessed area. The attachment protrusion fits into the recessed area. The recessed area defines third and fourth edges. The third edge extends in a third direction and the fourth edge extends in a fourth direction. The third direction and the fourth direction define a second acute angle. With the attachment protrusion installed within the recessed area the first and third edges are parallel to one another and the second and fourth edges are parallel to one another.
