FASTENING DEVICE FOR A DISC BRAKE WITH A SPEED SENSOR
A fastening device for a vehicle disc brake having a brake carrier includes holding fixture formed in the brake carrier for receiving a speed sensor. The brake carrier includes fastening members for mounting to a flange of the vehicle. The speed sensor is used for an anti-lock braking system to detect wheel slip. The holding fixture is in the form of a bore. The bore may be formed in the strut facing the axle or in an extension of one of the fastening members of the brake carrier. The speed sensor is aligned in its extension direction axially with an exciter in or on the brake disc or in the axle. The speed sensor is attached to a cable that does not need to be guided past the vehicle flange.
ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
Disclosed herein an electric parking brake (EPB) system includes a first EPB provided on a left wheel of a vehicle; a second EPB provided on a right wheel of the vehicle; and a controller configured to determine an EPB that is to be operated alone from among the first and second EPBs in response to a gear being shifted to a P-stage, and operate the determined EPB alone.
POWER TRANSMISSION UNIT AND BRAKE SYSTEMS USING SAME
A power transmission unit of a single-acting plunger type includes a ball screw, a ball nut driven by the ball screw, and a plunger piston coupled to the ball nut. A block housing at least partially encloses the plunger piston and the ball screw. A plunger chamber is at least partially defined by the block housing and a face of the plunger piston. The plunger chamber is selectively pressurized by reciprocal motion of the plunger piston with respect to the block housing driven by longitudinal motion of the ball nut. An electric motor selectively drives the ball screw to responsively reciprocate the plunger piston within the plunger chamber. A motor housing at least partially encloses the ball nut, the electric motor, and the plunger piston. The motor housing includes a block lip which is crimped to the block housing to maintain the motor housing in relation to the block housing.
ANTI-RATTLE CALIPER ASSEMBLY
A piston assembly for a disc brake assembly having a housing with a passage includes a piston provided in the passage and axially movable therein in response to hydraulic pressure. A rotatable spindle extends into the piston. A nut is threadably connected to the spindle such that rotation of the spindle results in axial movement of the nut within the passage to thereby axially move the piston. A damping member encircles the nut and has one of a sliding and rolling interface with the piston in response to relative axial movement between the nut and the piston to prevent rattling of the nut against the piston.
Method for influencing the kinematic behavior of a vehicle
A method for influencing the kinematic behavior of a vehicle, in particular a rail vehicle with at least one friction brake system, wherein a brake effect is generated by pressing at least one first and second friction elements against each other, where to achieve advantageous method conditions, temperatures of at least the first friction element are calculated from at least speed, brake pressure, external temperature of the vehicle and absolute times, and heat conduction through the first friction element and a speed-dependent cooling process of the first friction element are taken into consideration during the calculation, and where the kinematic behavior of the vehicle is influenced based on the calculation such that expensive fitting of the friction brake system with sensors for measuring friction element temperatures can be advantageously omitted, and the thermal state of the friction brake system can still be estimated with a high degree of precision.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD, AND VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM
An electrically controlled differential gear is disposed between a right front wheel and a left front wheel of a vehicle. The electrically controlled differential gear includes a clutch mechanism that limits a differential operation of the electrically controlled differential gear. A second ECU (control portion) obtains information as to failure associated with actuation of a right front electric brake mechanism. The second ECU obtains a physical amount relating to a required braking force which is applied to the left front wheel and the right front wheel. The second ECU outputs a differential limiting control command for limiting the differential operation of the electrically controlled differential gear to the clutch mechanism (or more specifically, a differential ECU that controls the clutch mechanism) based on the information as to the failure and the physical amount relating to the required braking force.
DISK BRAKE
A disk brake includes a brake mechanism configured to apply a braking force by advancing a piston in a cylinder portion based on driving of an electric motor to thus press inner and outer brake pads against a disk rotor, and an elastic member configured to bias the inner and outer brake pads in an axial direction of the disk rotor and in a direction away from the disk rotor. A biasing force of the elastic member is greater than sliding resistance of the piston on the cylinder portion. Due to this configuration, the disk brake can effectively prevent or reduce the drags of the inner and outer brake pads.
ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE DEVICE AND ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE CONTROL METHOD
Provided fire an electric parking brake device and an electric parking brake control method that can apply an appropriate clamping force by accelerating data measurement and by suppressing influence of load fluctuation during idle rum For this end, the electric parking brake device of the present invention includes: a disc rotor; brake pads that are pressed to the disc rotor; an electric motor that imparts a thrust to the brake pads; a current detection unit that detects a motor current of the electric motor; and a brake control device that controls the electric motor 8 based on the motor current. The brake control device controls the electric motor 8 based on a current change amount of an electric current during a period from a point of time that the motor current becomes a peak current to a predetermined point of time.

Land vehicles and methods of operating land vehicles are disclosed. A land vehicle includes a frame structure, a plurality of wheels, and a brake system. The frame structure includes a front cage that at least partially defines an operator cabin and a rear compartment positioned rearward of the front cage in a longitudinal direction. The plurality of wheels are supported by the frame structure. Each of plurality of wheels is sized to permit direct integration of an electric motor therein.
Brake device and brake control system
A brake device of the present invention includes: a wheel brake unit for braking a wheel; an electric motor for driving the wheel brake unit; a speed reducer for decelerating rotation of the electric motor; a rotation-linear motion converter for converting a rotational output of the speed reducer into a linear motion; and a braking force transmission member for transmitting the linear motion produced by the rotation-linear motion converter to the wheel brake unit.
