Axle assembly having a dipstick assembly
An axle assembly that includes a housing assembly and a dipstick assembly. The housing assembly may at least partially define a cavity that receives a lubricant. At least a portion of the dipstick assembly may be removably mountable to the housing assembly and may include a fitting and a dipstick.
System and method for detecting a lubricant-out condition in an aircraft gearbox
A gearbox includes a housing including a lubricant reservoir, at least one gear system arranged in the housing, at least one lubricant delivery passage operable to direct a flow of lubricant from a lubricant reservoir onto the at least one gear system, at least one lubricant return passage operable to guide the flow of lubricant to the lubricant reservoir, and a lubricant-out sensor fluidically connected to the at least one lubricant return passage. The lubricant-out sensor is operable to detect a non-pressure based parameter of the lubricant.
Cold start lubricant distribution systems and work vehicles including the same
Embodiments of a cold start lubricant distribution system include a lubricant distribution circuit, which fluidly interconnects first and second actively-lubricated work vehicle assemblies onboard a work vehicle. A flow divider section is included in the lubricant distribution circuit and through which lubricant flow is apportioned between the first and second actively-lubricated work vehicle assemblies. A lubricant supply pump is further located in the lubricant distribution circuit upstream of the flow divider section. The cold start lubricant distribution system further includes a lubricant flow modification assembly operably in a cold start mode. When operating in the cold start mode, the lubricant flow modification assembly reduces a volume of lubricant flow supplied to the first actively-lubricated work vehicle assembly through the flow divider section relative to a volume of lubricant flow supplied to the second actively-lubricated work vehicle assembly through the flow divider section.
TRACTION TRANSMISSION
A traction transmission for purposes of transmitting the rotation of an input drive shaft to a rail wheel which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to an output drive shaft, has at least two transmission stages, in each case having at least one small gear or pinion, and at least one large gear, and has a transmission housing with bearings for the input drive shaft and the output drive shaft, and has transmission oil arranged in the transmission housing, wherein in the position of use the input drive shaft is arranged below the output drive shaft. The transmission housing has an attachment element for purposes of a pivotable arrangement about an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the input drive shaft and output drive shaft.

The transmission housing has an attachment element for purposes of a pivotable arrangement about an axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the input drive shaft and output drive shaft.
TRANSMISSION STORAGE OIL LEVEL CONTROL WITH A SOLENOID ON AND OFF PULSE
A transmission storage oil level control system includes a first fluid reservoir and a second fluid reservoir separated from the first fluid reservoir by a barrier. A valve positioned in the barrier is controlled to open and close a fluid communication path between the second fluid reservoir and the first fluid reservoir. The valve is normally closed when a temperature of the hydraulic fluid is above a predetermined value. A sensor is positioned in at least one of the first reservoir and the second reservoir. The sensor identifies a condition of a hydraulic fluid. A control device communicates with the valve to apply a signal received from the sensor to selectively open and close the valve when the temperature of the hydraulic fluid is above the predetermined value.
VEHICLE SENSOR SYSTEM
A vehicle sensor system reduces power obtained from a first power-generating component of a power-generating system based on a temperature variation between the first power-generating component and one or more additional power-generating components of the power-generating system at different operating speeds of the power-generating system. The power is reduced to prevent or reduce damage to the first power-generating component. The power-generating components can be axles of a vehicle.
Oil Supply System for an Automatic Transmission
An oil supply system of an automatic transmission includes a reservoir (1) for accommodating and storing a liquid operating medium (6), a volume compensation tank (102), and a valve device (20) for establishing or interrupting a hydraulic connection (3) between the volume compensation tank (102) and the reservoir (1). The volume compensation tank (102), in the installed position of the automatic transmission, is arranged above the reservoir (1). The hydraulic connection (3) between the volume compensation tank (102) and the reservoir (1) is automatically establishable or interruptable by the valve device (20) as a function of a temperature. The valve device (20) is configured such that the temperature at which the valve device (20) is in the open condition is lower than the temperature at which the valve device (20) is in the closed condition and, thereby, the hydraulic connection (3) is at least partially interrupted.
Transmission for a Motor Vehicle
A transmission (1) for a motor vehicle (2) includes a transmission housing (3) with an interior space (4) and an oil sump (6). At least one rotating transmission component (5a) is arranged in the interior space (4) of the transmission housing (3). At least one compensating tank (7) is configured for collecting oil from the interior space (4). The compensating tank (7) is fluidically connected to the oil sump (6) via at least one return (8). The particular return (8) delivers a predefined flow back into the oil sump (6) as a function of a power throughput of the transmission (1).
