A transmission gear assembly including a housing with an axial center line, having a front wall and a circumferential wall with a breather opening. The front wall includes an annular groove in fluid communication with the breather opening and covered by a substantially circular plate having a perimeter at a first distance (r) from the axial center line and with a predetermined length (L). On each transverse side in at least the lower part, an air/oil inlet and outlet is defined by a recess of the perimeter at a distance (r.sub.3,r.sub.4) from the axial center line smaller than the first distance (r), each recess being in fluid communication with the annular groove. On each transverse side in the upper part, an air/oil inlet is formed by a recess of the perimeter at a distance (r.sub.1,r.sub.2) from the axial center line smaller than the first distance (r) and having a circumferential length (l.sub.1,l.sub.2) shorter than a circumferential length (l.sub.3,l.sub.4) of the inlet/outlets.

Transmission lubrication system
11592102 · 2023-02-28 · ·

A transmission lubrication system for a vehicle providing a continuous return flow of a lubricant. The transmission lubrication system includes a differential housing, a transmission housing, a lubricant tank, a suction line, a lubricant pump, and an air suction pump. The transmission housing is connected to the differential housing in an air-tight manner and a lubricant through-passage is provided between the transmission housing and the differential housing. The lubricant tank is provided in the differential housing and has a lubricant suction opening in a lower region. The lubricant pump conveys lubricant from the lubricant tank through the suction line and conducts the lubricant to the lubrication points in the differential housing and transmission housing. The air suction pump pumps air from the lubricant tank into the transmission housing so that an excess air pressure is maintained in the transmission housing.

Transmission and motor vehicle

A transmission includes a first oil reservoir and a second oil reservoir. The first oil reservoir, in an installed position, lies underneath the second oil reservoir. The first oil reservoir and the second oil reservoir are connected via a connection line. The connection line is configured to open or close depending on an oil level in the first oil reservoir. A related motor vehicle is also provided.

OIL SUPPLY SYSTEM WITH VACUUM PUMP FOR TRANSMISSION OF DRIVE SYSTEM
20230030818 · 2023-02-02 ·

An oil supply system includes a first oil receptacle collecting oil from a transmission and a second oil receptacle collecting oil from the rest of a drive system using gravity. Oil supply pump(s) supply oil from the oil receptacle(s) to the different consumers. A vacuum pump generates a negative pressure in the first oil receptacle and in the transmission casing connected to the first oil receptacle. A gas check valve prevents gas from flowing between the oil receptacles when a pressure differential is applied to the oil receptacles by the vacuum pump. An oil check valve prevents oil from flowing between the oil receptacles when the pressure differential is applied. An oil regulating valve may control the oil flow between the first and second oil receptacles. The oil supply system provides a simpler configuration without scavenging pump(s).

Gear unit having a housing
11662014 · 2023-05-30 · ·

A gear unit includes a housing, a trough for guiding oil and reducing losses due to splashing surrounding a circumferential section of a toothing part, particularly a gear wheel, especially in the radial and axial direction, the trough including at least three parts, e.g., at least one bottom plate and two side walls, the bottom plate being screw-connected to the two side walls, the trough being fastened to the housing, the trough having an opening, particularly a channel, especially at its lowest surface area, e.g., particularly at the surface area having the greatest radial distance, in particular, during rotational movement of the gear wheel, oil being conveyed from the oil pan of the gear unit through the opening between the trough and gear wheel, especially to a position higher than the level of the oil pan, the bottom plate and the side walls being stamped bent parts.

Since an oil level of oil in a first space housing a transmission mechanism is lower than an oil level of the oil in a second space housing a differential gear, not only is it possible to lubricate a drive pinion and a ring gear housed in the second space with a sufficient amount of oil while cutting the total amount of oil compared with a case in which the oil levels of the first space and the second space are both high, but it is also possible to reduce the resistance of oil to stirring in the second space by discharging excess oil building up in the second space to the first space via a second oil passage formed along an axial center of a pinion shaft, and to prevent the oil level of the first space from decreasing excessively, thus avoiding aeration of an oil pump.

09829088 · 2017-11-28 · ·

A triple circuit lubrication device for lubricating a mechanical system, the lubrication device being provided with two independent lubrication circuits, a tank common to both lubrication circuits and containing a lubrication liquid, and a tertiary circuit in which a tertiary liquid flows. Each lubrication circuit comprises pipes, and respective pressure sensors, pumps, heat exchangers, spray nozzles, and suction points for sucking up the lubrication liquid situated in the tank. The second suction point is situated below the high first suction point. The tertiary circuit comprises a third pump, a third pressure sensor, the second heat exchanger, and a third heat exchanger, thus serving to cool the lubrication liquid flowing through the second lubrication circuit.
