MAGNETIC STOP FOR MOVING COMPONENTS
A tensioning system including a magnetic stop is provided. The tensioning system includes a tensioner arm and a support. The tensioner arm is mounted on the support for pivoting movement. The support includes a support magnetic or ferromagnetic element on at least a first surface thereof. The tensioner arm includes a tensioner arm magnet on at least a second surface thereof that faces the first surface of the support.
PIVOT SHAFT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY
A belt tensioner for a belt system having a compression spring internal to the tensioning arm, the tensioning arm pivotable in relation to the pivot shaft and the tensioner base. The compression spring provides an axial force against an axially slidable hub bearing, which moves to accommodate variations in spring force and/or dimensional changes.
DRIVE BELT TENSIONER FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE
An electric vehicle comprises a drive belt mounted about a motor output and about a drive wheel. The drive belt is driven by an output torque and experiences the output torque in a first torque direction and in a second torque direction. A belt tensioner comprises a tension pulley in contact with the drive belt, and a tensioning mechanism configured to displace the tension pulley in a first direction against the drive belt to tension the drive belt upon the drive belt experiencing the output torque in the first torque direction. The tensioning mechanism is configured to allow tension in the drive belt to displace the tension pulley in a second direction opposite to the first direction upon the drive belt experiencing the output torque in the second torque direction.
BELT DRIVE SYSTEM FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A belt drive system for rotatably coupling an internal combustion engine to an electric machine is described. The belt drive system includes a serpentine belt and a hydraulic strut tensioner, wherein the hydraulic strut tensioner is disposed to exert a tension force on the serpentine belt. A controller is operatively connected to the electric machine and includes an instruction set that is executable to periodically induce a reduction in torque output of the electric machine.
IMPROVED FILTERING PULLEY, SYSTEM COMPRISING SUCH PULLEY AND RELATED CONTROL METHOD
A filtering pulley has a hub configured to be fixed to a shaft for rotation thereabout, a crown mounted coaxial and rotationally free on the hub, and a plurality of elastic groups arranged circumferentially with respect to the hub and to the crown and interposed, each, between a pair of first elements integral with the hub and between a pair of second elements integral with the crown. The first elements have at least two spokes, carried by an actuator that is made of two portions that can be selectively coupled based on angular position data between the crown and the hub and/or based on data of torque transmitted between the different elements of the system comprising this pulley.
Orbital tensioner
An orbital tensioner comprising an annular base, a ring journalled to the annular base on a ball bearing, said ring having a ring axis of rotation (A-A), a first pulley journalled to the ring, a first pulley axis of rotation (B-B) offset from the ring axis of rotation (A-A), a pivot arm pivotally mounted to the ring, a pivot arm pivot axis (C-C) offset from the ring axis of rotation (A-A), a second pulley journalled to the pivot arm, a torsion spring biasing the pivot arm in a first direction, the ball bearing having a first race and a second race, the ring fixed to the first race, the annular base fixed to the second race, and a damping mechanism frictionally disposed between the ring and the base.
CONTROLLER FOR VEHICLE
A vehicle includes a chain tensioner that serves as an oil damper using oil supplied from an oil pump. The vehicle includes a controller that controls a traveling mode of the vehicle in a BEV mode or a non-BEV mode. When shifting the traveling mode from the BEV mode to the non-BEV mode, the controller executes a high-pressure process for calculating a supply pressure of oil supplied to the chain tensioner that is higher when a duration of the BEV mode is greater than or equal to a specified time than when the BEV mode duration is less than the specified time.
FACE OF TENSIONER GUIDE OR ARM WITH PATTERN TO INFLUENCE CHAIN SYSTEM NVH PERFORMANCE
A pattern for application to the face of the tensioner arm, guide or snubber in contact with a chain to intentionally break up the chain contact force between the back of the chain links and the tensioner arm, guide or snubber face. This is done to prevent alignment with the chain related orders which are causing NVH within the chain system or to increase overall NVH to obscure chain related orders.
Tensioner
To provide a tensioner that has a simple structure and is easy to assemble, and is configured to smoothly relieve pressure during oil release with reduced flow resistance so that the oil pressure in an oil pressure chamber is kept stable in a favorable manner. A relief valve unit includes a cap member that fits with a seat member to retain a stopper member inside the seat member. An external relief hole, which causes a relief-side space in a plunger hole to communicate with the outside of a plunger, opens radially in an outer circumferential surface of the plunger.
