Methods for making a gasket with a pliable resilient body with a perimeter having characteristics different than the body
A single piece gasket is disclosed having a skeletal member, typically metallic, and a pliable body. The pliable body includes a first portion having a first firmness and a second perimeter portion have a firmer consistency. When such a composite body is placed under compression, the perimeter will tend to limit the flow of the softer inner material past the firmer perimeter region or portion of the gasket. In this manner, creep or overrun of the less firm portion material will be reduced.
High pressure anti-extrusion diaphragm
A diaphragm seal with a unique profile at its outer diameter and a high-pressure seal used to at least partially envelope the outer diameter of the diaphragm seal is described. The high-pressure seal may envelope an outer diameter side of the diaphragm seal such that the high-pressure seal creates a barrier between the diaphragm seal and the interface between an upper pump housing portion and a lower pump housing portion in which the diaphragm seal can be installed. The high-pressure seal may provide a “gripping” force on the diaphragm seal so as to inhibit or prevent extrusion of the diaphragm seal in either a radially inner or radially outer direction when installed in a pump housing.
SEALING APPARATUS AND GASKET
A sealing apparatus using a gasket in which a gasket main body is integrally formed with a reinforcing ring, the gasket main body has a one-end-side seal bead and an other-end-side seal bead which are positioned on one end side and another end side of the reinforcing ring in an axial direction and are oriented in directions facing away from each other in the axial direction, the one-end-side seal bead is closely contacted on a bottom surfaced of an attachment recessed part formed in a housing, and the other-end-side seal bead is closely contacted on a cover which closes the attachment recessed part of the housing, wherein in a state of being attached in the attachment recessed part with the cover removed from the housing, at least a part of an outer peripheral portion of the gasket serves as a supportable portion by providing a flange consecutively provided on an outer periphery side of the reinforcing ring.
Method of manufacturing gasket
A process for producing gaskets by curing a liquid molding material applied over a plate by a dispenser, wherein in order to improve accuracy in the cross-sectional shape and/or height of the gaskets, the process comprises the steps of: using a dispenser to coat the upper surface of a plate with a liquid molding material, and form a coating layer extending endlessly in a prescribed pattern; and overlapping a molding jig on the plate, the molding jig having in a lower surface a molding groove extending endlessly in a prescribed pattern corresponding to the coating layer, correcting the cross-sectional shape of the coating layer to a cross-sectional shape that corresponds to the molding groove, and curing the coating layer.

A cylinder head gasket with a carrier layer and at least one inserted sealing element, wherein the inserted sealing element has a passage opening for combustion gas, the inserted sealing element is fastened on the carrier layer on an outer side which is spaced apart from the passage opening, and the inserted sealing element has at least a first layer and at least one further layer. An engine component comprising the cylinder head gasket is disclosed, the engine component having an engine block unit, a cylinder sleeve unit which delimits the engine block unit at least in regions from a combustion chamber, and a cylinder head unit, wherein the cylinder head gasket is arranged between the cylinder head unit on one hand and the engine block unit and the cylinder sleeve unit on the other hand.
POUCH-TYPE SECONDARY BATTERY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A pouch-type secondary battery and a method of manufacturing same are capable of completely protecting a metal layer from moisture or air by forming an insulating coating layer including a conformal coating layer on the metal layer exposed at a cut surface of a battery case. The method includes a first step of preparing a battery case including an upper case and a lower case by cutting a laminate sheet including an outer coating layer, a metal layer, and an inner coating layer; a second step of receiving an electrode assembly between the upper case and the lower case; a third step of forming a sealing portion by contacting outer peripheries of the upper case and the lower case; and a fourth step of forming a conformal coating layer on a side surface of the sealing portion so as to prevent exposure of the metal layer.
GASKET FOR DISHWASHER, DISHWASHER INCLUDING SUCH GASKET AND ASSOCIATED ASSEMBLY METHOD
The invention relates to a seal for a dishwasher adapted to be interposed between a peripheral edge of an opening of a tub for cookware and a door for closing said opening. The seal comprises a metal part adapted to be connected to the peripheral edge of the opening, a first part, made of polymeric material, integrally connected to the metal part and a second part, made of polymeric material, associated with the first part and adapted to be contacted by the door when the door is arranged in a position for closing the opening.
GASKET AND SEALING STRUCTURE
An upper gasket member includes an upper base portion of an annular flat plate, an upper outer periphery portion diagonally extending to an upper side from an outer periphery edge portion of the upper base portion, and an upper outer periphery side annular portion of an annular flat plate extending in an extension direction of the upper base portion from an outer periphery edge portion of the upper outer periphery portion. Further, a lower gasket member includes a lower base portion of an annular flat plate, a lower outer periphery portion diagonally extending to a lower side from an outer periphery edge portion of the lower base portion, and a lower outer periphery side annular portion of an annular flat plate extending in an extension direction of the lower base portion from an outer periphery edge portion of the lower outer periphery portion.
Gasket and manufacturing method thereof
An object of the present invention is to provide a gasket capable of maintaining a surface pressure for a long period of time while securing sealing performance and improving durability and a manufacturing method thereof. A gasket includes a first annular portion which is formed by a metal wire woven fabric and has a seal target hole and a main body portion which is formed by a metal wire woven fabric and is in contact with an outer peripheral edge of the first annular portion, in which a metal wire of the metal wire woven fabric and a metal wire of the metal wire woven fabric are entangled so that the first annular portion and the main body portion are joined to each other and a gap between the metal wires forming the first annular portion is sealed by a resin.
SELF-FORMING GASKET ASSEMBLY AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION AND ASSEMBLY THEREOF
A gasket assembly and methods of construction and assembly thereof are provided. The gasket assembly includes an elastically deformable, resilient carrier layer having an upper surface and a lower surface extending in planar, generally parallel relation with one another between an inner periphery and an outer periphery when in a disassembled state. At least one top layer is fixed to the upper surface proximate at least one of the inner periphery and the outer periphery. At least one bottom layer is fixed to the lower surface in radially spaced relation from the at least one top layer. The upper surface and the lower surface take on a non-planar, spring-biased shape upon compressing the gasket assembly between a pair of surfaces to an assembled state.
