A radially outer annular portion of the annular end face of the annular fitting flange is free from the glass liner. The radially inner annular portion and the radially outer annular portion of the annular end face of the annular fitting flange define an annular gasket abutment face configured to seat a gasket thereon. An annular gasket includes an annular gasket layer. The annular gasket layer includes a radially inner annular gasket segment including a first material suitable for forming a liquid-tight seal with an opposing flange. A radially outer annular gasket segment surrounds the radially inner annular gasket segment. The radially outer annular gasket segment is fire-rated for forming a fire-rated seal with the opposing flange.

Flexible seal assembly

Flexible seal assemblies having a relatively low torsional rigidity and high longitudinal flexure to thereby allow the flexible seal assembly to flex between adjacent components and maintain a seal, even when movement between adjacent components occurs, is described. In some embodiments, the flexible seal assembly includes one or more layers of metal matrix material, the metal matrix material being comprised of a plurality of short segments of thin wire arranged randomly and sintered together to form a semi-rigid sheet. The one or more layers of metal matrix material can be sandwiched between an upper casing and a lower casing of a metal alloy casing. In various embodiments, additional features are provided for helping to make sure the seal assembly stays together, such as spot welds formed through the seal assembly, an S-shaped casing, and a recess/protrusion feature provided on adjacent layers of metal matrix material.

Method of producing gasket and gasket

A method of producing a gasket in which burrs can be prevented from being formed, and a mold failure can be suppressed, and a gasket are provided. A method of producing a gasket includes: a step S1 of preparing a metal mesh member and expanded graphite; a step S2 of placing the metal mesh member around the expanded graphite in a manner that a long belt-like composite body in which the expanded graphite is enveloped by the metal mesh member is formed; a step S4 of adjusting the shapes of longitudinal end portions of the composite body in a manner that, in the short-side direction of the composite body, the width dimensions of the longitudinal end portions of the composite body are smaller than the width dimension of a longitudinal middle portion of the composite body; a step S5 of spirally winding the composite body in a manner that a tubular body in a multiply wound state in which an axial direction coincides with the short-side direction of the composite body is formed; and a step S6 of compress molding the tubular body in the axial direction of the tubular body.

NON-PLANAR STICKY GASKETS FOR RECEIPT BETWEEN A BASE AND A WORKPIECE

A gasket for placement between a base of an aircraft structure and the underside of a workpiece, such as an aircraft antenna, is disclosed. The gasket has a cured polyurethane elastomeric gel body with a multiplicity of holes therethrough. The body typically has a flat lower surface and upstanding side walls, but the top surface is non-flat. The top surface may have sloped areas or raised tabular areas or a combination. The gel body may also have a skeleton member, such as a flexible metallic screen or other woven member. When the gasket is placed between the aircraft base and the workpiece, threaded on fasteners, and the fasteners torqued down, the non-flat upper surface will flow such that, at proper torque setting, it fully coats and fully covers the underside of the workpiece and, typically, makes contact with the screen or skeleton member, which also makes contact with the upper surface of the base.

Spherical annular seal member and method of manufacturing the same

A spherical annular seal member 38 is used in an exhaust pipe joint and includes a spherical annular base member 36 defined by a cylindrical inner surface 32, a partially convex spherical surface 33, large- and small-diameter side annular end faces 34 and 35 of the partially convex spherical surface 33, and an outer layer 37 formed integrally on the partially convex spherical surface 33 of the spherical annular base member 36. The spherical annular base member 36 includes a reinforcing member made from a metal wire net 5 and a heat-resistant material containing expanded graphite filling meshes of the metal wire net 5 of this reinforcing member and compressed in such a manner as to be formed integrally with this reinforcing member in mixed form. In the outer layer 37, the reinforcing member, the heat-resistant material, and the solid lubricant are integrated in mixed form.

A flanged sealing ring which is used to seal a pipe connection is produced from a material having a metal fraction distributed substantially homogeneously in the flanged sealing ring. The flanged sealing ring can be used in a device for detecting components of a flanged sealing ring in a pipeline system that includes a plurality of pipes, at least two of which are held against each other at a flange in such a way that sealing is effected by a flanged sealing ring. Using a metal detector and a gate for removing a metal-containing substance from the pipeline, which gate is arranged behind the metal detector in the conveying direction, the flanged sealing ring can then be detected, and therefore, when components of the flanged sealing ring detach, detection can be performed at the metal detector and discharging can be performed at the gate.

SEAL MATERIAL FOR ANALYZER, AND FLOW CELL, DETECTOR, AND ANALYZER USING THE SAME

Provided is a seal material having high rigidity without deformation or breakage, excellent corrosion resistance to fluid, and low solubility when used under high sealing force, and to provide a flow cell, a detector, and an analyzer in which there is no fluid leakage, contamination of the seal material components is prevented, and the replacement frequency is low. Provided are a seal material for an analyzer, including a resin and at least one layer of fiber sheet embedded in the resin, wherein the at least one layer of fiber sheet is embedded between and in substantially parallel to two seal surfaces: a first seal surface, which is one resin surface of the seal material; and a second seal surface, which is the other resin surface substantially parallel to the former one, and a flow cell, a detector, and an analyzer using the seal material.
