Automated flowline leak sealing system and method

Automated flowline leak sealing can be implemented as a flowline sealing tool assembly. A sealing sleeve is configured to be positioned within a flowline with a circumferential leak. The sealing sleeve includes a pair of ends configured to be positioned on either side of the circumferential leak. A pair of sealing elements are attached to the pair of ends, respectively, and are configured to seal the pair of ends to an inner wall of the flowline on either side of the circumferential leak. A deployment tool includes a hollow cylinder configured to be inserted into and retracted from an inner volume defined by the sealing sleeve. The deployment tool is configured to activate the pair of sealing elements to seal the pair of ends to the inner wall of the flowline on either side of the circumferential leak in response to being retracted from the inner volume.

Method of restoring a tubular assembly

A method of restoring a tubular assembly having a plurality of coupled tubular bodies includes the steps of inserting a first tubular element and a second tubular element inside the tubular assembly, the first tubular element having a first free end facing a second free end of the second tubular element, and of pushing at least one of the first or second tubular element against the other so as to bring the first free end and the second free end into contact. Before the step of inserting, there is a step of producing a collar on at least the first free end of the first tubular element.

METHOD OF LINING A TUBULAR STRUCTURE
20170314722 · 2017-11-02 · ·

Method of lining a tubular structure with a plastics liner pipe comprising the steps of:—temporarily reducing an outside diameter of the liner pipe by passing the liner pipe through a roller system;—cooling the liner pipe once its outside diameter has been reduced and applying a thermal restraint;—transporting the liner pipe to an installation site remote from the roller system;—removing said thermal restraint; and—installing the liner pipe in said tubular structure at said installation site.

Pipe rehabilitation method

Segments are linked in the circumferential length to assemble a pipe unit, which is linked to another pipe unit using a link bolt to install a rehabilitating pipe inside an existing pipe. An elastically deformable clip having a cylindrical cavity with a notch is attached to the link bolt between the inner plates of the segment. The clip grips the link bolt at the cavity thereof that is enlarged due to elastic deformation. When the link bolt is moved in the direction opposite the insertion direction, the clip that grips the link bolt hits the inner plate of the segment to limit the movement of the link bolt in the opposite direction and prevent the link bolt from falling out of the segment.

Spacer for positioning a rehabilitating pipe

A spacer is inserted into a space between an existing pipe and a rehabilitating pipe to adjust a position of the rehabilitating pipe with respect to the existing pipe. The spacer has an elongated shape with both end portions in a longitudinal direction thereof cut off at an oblique angle and has a transverse width increasing gradually from an upper surface portion to a bottom surface portion. A space is formed in the bottom surface portion to correspond to a shape of the upper surface portion, thereby allowing a number of the spacers to be stacked on one another in a thickness direction thereof. The upper surface portion has a flat-plate shape with a flat rectangular surface region.

INFLATABLE BULKHEAD USEFUL IN UNDERGROUND PIPE REFURBISHMENT
20170234474 · 2017-08-17 ·

A method for refurbishing an existing host pipe, in which an in-situ longitudinal cut is made in the interior wall of a subterranean host pipe. An expansion tool is moved along a path inside the host pipe, stopping at one or more stations on the way. At each station, responsive to isolated outward radial force from the expansion tool, the interior diameter of the host pipe is increased via separation of the longitudinal cut. A new rigid liner pipe is inserted inside the expanded host pipe to operationally replace the host pipe. In some embodiments, grout is deployed in the annular space between liner pipe and host pipe. Expansion of the host pipe via separation of the longitudinal cut optimizes the refurbishment job and enables the original host pipe, as expanded, to contribute structurally to the refurbished pipe system.

Sealing device for connecting two pipes

A sealing device is provided suitable for making at least partially fluid-tight a connection between a first pipe and a smaller second pipe, a part of the second pipe being able to be engaged in the first pipe while leaving an inter-pipes space between the two pipes in the radial direction. The sealing device is mounted on a supporting pipe and is adapted to spread out in the inter-pipes space from a guard position to a sealing position. It comprises at least one sealing set including substantially rigid movable sealing members which extend each along a predetermined angular sector in a circumferential direction and are individually guided in displacement between the guard position and the sealing position.

Method for linking segments for rehabilitation pipe and linking tool

A linking pin made of elastic plastic having linking pin halves is used to link segments in the longitudinal direction to assemble a rehabilitation pipe. The linking pin includes a tubular portion having on its outer periphery surface first and second protrusions separated by a distance of twice the thickness of the side plate of the segment and a rear protruding portion that enlarges in diameter due to elasticity. The linking pin is inserted into one segment and the other segment so that the side plates of both the segments come between the first and second protrusions. The linking pin is then enlarged in diameter due to elasticity to fit the side plates between the first and second protrusions and link both the segments in the longitudinal direction. The linking pin that is enlarged in diameter can be reduced in diameter to unlink both the segments.

Device for inserting a pipe into an elongated cavity

A device for inserting a pipe into an elongated cavity, comprising at least two pipe grippers which can be moved along a curved path and which are arranged and designed in such a way that they grip around the pipe at least in sections and, in the gripped state, they move curved at least for a portion.

SPACER FOR ADJUSTING THE POSITION OF A REHABILITATION PIPE AND POSITION ADJUSTING METHOD USING SUCH
20220268388 · 2022-08-25 ·

A spacer is inserted into a gap between an existing pipe and a rehabilitation pipe to adjust the position of the rehabilitation pipe inside the existing pipe. The spacer comprises a first wedge-shaped member with teeth formed at a predetermined pitch and a second wedge-shaped member having an elastic deformable member. The elastic deformable member is provided with teeth that engage with the teeth of the first wedge-shaped member so that the second wedge-shaped member can move relative to the first wedge-shaped member in the insertion direction and cannot be moved in the opposite direction. The second wedge-shaped member is provided with a filler passage hole for passing therethrough a filler injected into the gap between the existing pipe and the rehabilitation pipe. The elastic deformable member is elastically deformed into the filler passage hole to disengage the teeth of the first and second wedge-shaped members to allow movement of the second wedge-shaped member in the direction opposite the insertion direction.
