ARRANGEMENT FOR AND A METHOD OF SUPPORTING A SIDE WALL OF A VERTICAL FLUE GAS PASS IN A THERMAL POWER STEAM GENERATOR
An arrangement for and a method of horizontally supporting a side wall of a top-supported flue gas pass. The side wall includes evaporative water tubes at a first temperature, and the flue gas pass includes a superheating tube at a temperature higher than the first temperature and having rigid, horizontal tube legs extending across the flue gas pass between the side wall and a second side wall of the flue gas pass and being supported from above by a hanger, which is in operation at a temperature higher than the first temperature. Rigidity of the side wall is increased by horizontally supporting the side wall by the horizontal tube legs including end sections attached to the side walls by attaching means allowing relative movements of the end sections with respect to the side wall to which the end section is attached, only in a direction of their relative thermal movement.
Support assembly for a boiler
A support assembly (40) for supporting the furnace (22) of a boiler (10) to a support frame (12) of the boiler. The support assembly comprises a first and second assembly parts (56, 8). The first assembly part (56) attaches a pipe (18), f.ex. a downcomer, to a supporting beam (32, 88). The second assembly part (58) attaches the same pipe (18) to another supporting beam (30, 86). The support assembly (40) may be obliquely positioned. Alternatively, the support frame further comprises an oblique, connecting supporting beam (84) that connects the first and second assembly parts. In this case, the first and second assembly parts attach the pipe to the connecting supporting beam (84). The first and second assembly parts define first and second points of support (52, 4) that transmit loads. The first or second assembly part may be a hanger rod. A boiler plant comprises the above-mentioned boiler, support frame for the boiler and support assembly.

Baffle system and method for a heat exchanger located within a casing of a heat recovery steam generator
Disclosed is: A casing of a heat recovery steam generator has a sidewall, and heat exchanger coil located therein capable of exchanging heat from hot exhaust gas flow into the casing, with a gap between the end of the coil and a sidewall. A baffle system for closing the gap after the coil is installed in the casing comprises a mount attached to the coil near the gap, and a baffle plate associated with the mount and movably supported thereby. The configuration of the mount and baffle plate are such to allow the baffle plate to be capable of moving from a retracted position withdrawn from the sidewall, to an extended position closing the gap. A retainer can hold the plate in the retracted position. The retainer can release, for example, by being temperature sensitive. The mount can have a support that engages the coil.
