Carbon nanotube production method to stimulate soil microorganisms and plant growth produced from the emissions of internal combustion
09717186 · 2017-08-01 ·

A carbon nanotube production system is used for improving plant growth characteristics for a plant growing medium, for example soil in an agricultural field. The system includes an internal combustion engine, for example a tractor engine, which is arranged to combust a fuel mixture therein which includes a blend of fuels and additives including a carbon nanotube seeding material. The engine is operated in pyrolysis to produce exhaust emissions containing black carbon ultrafine and nano soot, for example by towing an agricultural implement across the agricultural field. At least a portion of the exhaust emissions is captured and conditioned to process the carbon soot into carbon nanotubes. The conditioned exhaust emissions and carbon nanotubes therein are then applied to the plant growing medium, for example by using the agricultural implement to incorporate the conditioned exhaust into the soil.

Method and Reactor for Manufacturing Particles
20210146325 · 2021-05-20 ·

A method for manufacturing particles including (a) bringing at least one starting material into a reactor, (b) subjecting the at least one starting material to a thermal treatment of a pulsating process gas stream in a treatment zone of the reactor, (c) forming particles, and (d) bringing the particles which are obtained in steps (b) and (c) out of the reactor. The at least one starting material is thermally treated in the treatment zone at a treatment temperature of 100° C. to 3000° C. and a retention time in the range of 0.1 s to 25 s, and temperature regulation of the process gas stream is decoupled from the generation and maintenance of a pulsation of the process gas stream. Also provided is a reactor for manufacturing particles according to the method.

Soot blower

In a soot blower, a heat transfer tube of a heat exchanger is arranged inside a pressure vessel, and gas for cleaning is injected toward the heat transfer tube from an injection pipe movable into and out of the pressure vessel. The soot blower includes a cylindrical casing provided to surround an insertion hole on the pressure vessel side into which the injection pipe is inserted, to extend outside the pressure vessel, the injection pipe being inserted into an inside of the casing; a support part provided inside the casing to guide movement of the injection pipe and to ensure airtightness between the casing and the injection pipe; and a gas supplying device provided immediately close to the support part to generate a jet stream of gas in a portion of the injection pipe that projects to the pressure vessel side.
