The air conditioner unit also includes an inlet grille upstream of the blower fan and an outlet grille downstream of the blower fan. The air conditioner unit further includes an automatic louver assembly operatively connected to the outlet grille whereby air flowing through the outlet grille is directed in a first direction when the automatic louver assembly is in a first position and the air flowing through the outlet grille is directed in a second direction when the automatic louver assembly is in a second position.

A system for controlling the flow of air through ductwork includes a foldably tensioned boot loadable air damper device and a method of installing same. The damper device includes an actuator having a retractable member and a pivoting member, wherein the pivoting member is operatively connected to the retractable member of the actuator. The damper device also includes at least one support base supporting the actuator and the pivoting member with respect to each other, a foldable damper blade attached to the pivoting member, and at least one tensioned hinge member operatively connected to the foldable damper blade for unfolding the damper blade. The damper device may be inserted through a register boot and into a ductwork when folded.

Shutter structure

A shutter structure includes a rotary shaft, a shutter plate, an upper rib and at least one lower rib. The rotary shaft is provided in a cylindrical duct line. The shutter plate rotates about the rotary shaft and switches between an open state and a closed state. The shutter plate has a peripheral edge portion, a curved portion, and a shutter plate shaft portion. The peripheral edge portion includes an upper shielding plate and two lower shielding plates. The lower shielding plates are located symmetrically to each other with respect to a center line. The center line is perpendicular to the shutter plate shaft portion. When the shutter plate is in the closed state, the upper shielding plate comes into contact with the upper rib from an upstream side, and the lower shielding plates come into contact with the at least one lower rib from a downstream side.

A backdraft damper for permitting a flow of air in an outflow direction and preventing the flow of air in a backdraft direction has a frame provided with a transverse opening allowing the passage of air through the frame. One or more blades extend across the frame and are mounted to the frame about a central portion by pivot members, for rotation between open and closed positions. Each blade comprises a blade body having a leading portion upstream of the central portion, the leading portion of the blade body comprising a channel, a trailing portion downstream of the central portion, the trailing portion of the blade having a larger surface area than the leading portion and comprising a seal disposed adjacent to a distal edge of the trailing portion, for sealing against either the leading portion of an adjacent blade or a blade stop projecting from the frame, and a counterweight disposed in the channel, whereby the counterweight balances the blade such that the blade is biased to the closed position by gravity and movable to the open position by the force of air flowing through the frame in the outflow direction.
