ELECTROHYDRODYNAMIC DRYING OF MOIST POROUS MATERIALS
20230088399 · 2023-03-23 ·

An electrohydrodynamic (EHD) drying apparatus includes a non-uniform electric field resulting from an electric field source operable for a high potential, and an electric field source operable for a low potential. A power source is connected to the electric field sources for producing the non uniform electric field for inducing dielectrophoresis (DEP) in an article within the uniform electric field. In particular configurations, the applied non-uniform electric field is for separating a vapor phase being formed during drying from the liquid phase. The electric field source defines a polarizer adapted to produce dielectrophoresis, and the electric field induces coupled electrostatics and momentum for disposing liquid towards the high electric field for drying.

VACUUM DRYING A COMESTIBLE CELL-BASED MEAT PRODUCT
20230329255 · 2023-10-19 ·

The present disclosure relates to one or more vacuum drying methods and apparatuses to partially dry a comestible cell-based meat product after being harvested from a bioreactor. The vacuum drying method includes implementing a pressure-temperature environment to evaporate a portion of the moisture content from a comestible cell-based meat product. In doing so, the vacuum drying method can concentrate protein in the comestible cell-based meat product, as well as minerals and other non-liquid components. Specifically, at refrigeration temperatures, the vacuum drying method preserves cellular structure of the comestible cell-based meat product and facilitates safe processing according to various rules and regulations for raw meat sale, distribution, and consumer consumption. In addition, lowered environmental pressure provides reduced drying times to achieve a particular moisture content criteria or threshold mass of the comestible cell-based meat product. Once partially dried, the comestible cell-based meat product can be subsequently processed for raw meat packaging.

Drying device for drying hygroscopic material to be dried
10895419 · 2021-01-19 ·

Drying device for drying hygroscopic material, for example wood, has a drying chamber for accommodating material to be dried, and air conditioning for setting a drying climate in drying chamber during drying process. Air conditioning sets drying climate, at least in part, as a function of moisture of material to be dried. There are bar-like support devices for storing material to be dried in drying chamber during drying process. At least one bar-like support device has scale for measuring weight of material to be dried that is stored on support device. Scale is in signal transmission connection with a control apparatus designed and programmed so that moisture of material to be dried is determined from weight measured by scale. Control apparatus is designed and programmed for controlling air conditioning so drying climate is set as a function of moisture of the respective material to be dried, as determined from the weight measured.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DRYING ORGANIC MATERIALS

A system for drying an organic material includes: a drying chamber to hold the organic material under controlled atmospheric conditions; convection equipment to regulate temperature and humidity within the drying chamber; flow control equipment to regulate flow of one or more gases in and out of the drying chamber; sensing equipment to sense the atmospheric conditions of the drying chamber; a processor; and memory communicably connected to the processor. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: receive sensed data from the sensing equipment; and control the convection equipment and the flow control equipment based on the sensed data.

Transformer system and control method of air-drying device thereof

Disclosed are a transformer system and a control method of an air-drying device thereof. The air-drying device has a desiccant material stored therein and is connected to a transformer for removing water from an airflow entering the transformer. The control method includes the following steps. The first step is detecting a weight of the desiccant material. The next step is determining whether the weight of the desiccant material reaches a first predetermined weight. The next step is determining whether the transformer is in an air inflow state or an air outflow state, and is conducted when the weight of the desiccant material reaches a first predetermined weight. The last step is heating the desiccant material, and is conducted when the transformer is the air outflow state. Therefore, the lifetime of the transformer can be remarkably extended.
