The shooting rest may include a rear support, a front support, a frame, and a lock down bar to secure the front support to a shooting bench or table. The rear support may prevent the muzzle from moving upward and the front support may absorb some of the recoil energy to keep the target in sight. The frame may be secured by the lock down bar and may connect the front support to the table. Safety may be greatly enhanced by having the gun secured to a table during cleaning and maintenance operations.

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a motor-less cartridge ring gear engagement module (CRGEM) for a turret-rotating system that includes a main drive gear configured to rotate in a rotation plane, a manual input shaft that extends substantially orthogonal relative to the rotation plane, and a drive shaft that extends substantially orthogonal relative to the rotation plane, where the drive shaft and the manual input shaft extend substantially parallel to one another. In an illustrative example, both the main drive gear and a hand crank may be located on a top surface of the CRGEM. In some embodiments, a manual drive cap may be hingedly coupled to the gearbox and configured to rotate in a vertical plane that is substantially orthogonal to the rotation plane. At least some examples may provide for a hand-operated, manual traverse unit that advantageously does not require electrical power to operate.

A shooting stand for supporting a user and a gun thereon includes a center post, a plurality of legs extending outwardly from a bottom end of the post, a gun support at the top end of the center post to support the gun, and a seat assembly supported on the center post at an intermediate location between the gun support assembly and the inner ends of the legs which is adapted to support the user thereon. The gun support and the seat assembly are both pivotal about an upright axis of the center post relative to the legs. The gun support, the seat assembly and the legs are all foldable into a collapsed position extending generally alongside the center post for ease of transport and storage.
