Disposable, miniature internal optical ignition source
An ammunition cartridge for a gun is optically initiated by a mechanism wholly within the cartridge case itself. The case has as optical primer initiation means producing light fluence to ignite a primer, which ignited primer may in turn ignite into a flashtube, and which ignited flashtube may in turn ignite a bed of propellant in said cartridge. The optical primer initiation means may be an LED, a laser diode, a VCSEL, or some other light emitting device in general. The cartridge optically initiated primer package is so sized and made electrically and mechanically seamlessly physically compatible with current ammunition cartridges such that these new cartridges are completely interchangeable. If the cartridge primer initiation means is of a percussion type, the cartridge is adapted to include an in-line piezoelectric crystal so that electrical power will be generated when the cartridge assembly is struck by a firing pin during percussion type operations; the power is then used to initiate the light emitting device.
High velocity, rimfire cartridge
A .22 caliber rimfire cartridge includes a generally cylindrical casing having a rearward rimfire end and an opposing mouth end, wherein the rearward rimfire end has an annular rim connecting to a cylindrical casing portion extending to a casing forward edge and a bullet is disposed in the forward mouth end. In embodiments, the bullet comprises copper and a polymer binder. In embodiments, the bullet has a forward tapering portion with a central cavity, a first cylindrical portion with a first diameter and a cylindrical surface directly rearward of the tapering portion, a cylindrical driving band directly rearward of the first cylindrical portion, the cylindrical driving band having a second diameter greater than the first diameter and having an outer second cylindrical surface, a third cylindrical portion directly rearward of the cylindrical driving band, the third cylindrical portion having a third cylindrical surface with a diameter equal to the first diameter. In embodiments, the bullet is positioned with the third cylindrical surface mostly or entirely within the casing. In embodiments, the casing has a circumferential crimp positioned at the third circumferential portion. In embodiments, the third circumferential surface having a circumferential indentation at the circumferential crimp.

Less lethal projectile system
A less lethal projectile system is revealed. The less lethal projectile system includes an outer shell and a projectile. A rimfire blank mounting slot is arranged at a rear end of the outer shell and offsetting a center of the outer shell. A rimfire blank is mounted in the rimfire blank mounting slot. A firing pin of a launcher strikes an edge of the rimfire blank eccentrically to push the projectile out. When the projectile is fired and reached a target, the projectile is broken and effective compositions loaded therein is scattered. The projectile is less lethal and getting broken easily for allowing the effective compositions loaded in the projectile to be spread out within a certain range.
