Force sensed surface scanning systems, devices, controllers and method

A force sensed surface scanning system (20) employs a scanning robot (41) and a surface scanning controller (50). The scanning robot (41) includes a surface scanning end-effector (43) for generating force sensing data informative of a contact force applied by the surface scanning end-effector (43) to an anatomical organ. In operation, the surface scanning controller (50) controls a surface scanning of the anatomical organ by the surface scanning end-effector (43) including the surface scanning end-effector (43) generating the force sensing data, and further constructs an intraoperative volume model of the anatomical organ responsive to the force sensing data generated by the surface scanning end-effector (43) indicating a defined surface deformation offset of the anatomical organ.

Caliper measurement force detecting device

A caliper measurement force detecting device includes a fixed unit that is securely attached to a slider so as not to displace relative to the slider; a movable unit that is provided to allow a slight displacement relative to the fixed unit along a direction parallel to a displacement direction of the slider; and pressure detectors that are arranged between the fixed unit and the movable unit and are provided so as to detect pressure applied in the direction parallel to the displacement direction of the slider. The movable unit includes an alternative finger hook that is arranged near a finger hook of the slider and serves as an operator that pushes and pulls the slider instead of the finger hook of the slider.

A measurement probe of the present disclosure that scans a surface of a measurement object to measure a three-dimensional shape or the like of the surface of the measurement object includes a first movable portion having a stylus, a second movable portion that is connected to the first movable portion to be movable in a Z direction, a third movable portion that is connected to the second movable portion to be movable in the Z direction, a first position measurer that measures a first position of the first movable portion in the Z direction, a second position measurer that measures a second position of the second movable portion in the Z direction, and a third position measurer that measures a third position of the third movable portion in the Z direction. A first relative position is calculated based on the first position and the second position. A second relative position is calculated based on the first position and the third position. The first relative position of the second movable portion with respect to the first movable portion in the Z direction and the second relative position of the third movable portion with respect to the first movable portion in the Z direction are maintained constant.

Embodiments of the invention include a method for compensating a force at a probe element of a probing unit. The probing unit being attached to and moved along a defined moving path with a number of moving points by a coordinate measuring machine for approaching a measuring point at an object. The probing unit comprises an actuator which is arranged and designed in such manner that a force is applicable to the probe element with respect to at least one actuating direction in variable and defined manner, the force depending on an applied actuating signal. Movement information about an expected movement of the probing unit is received, the movement information provides information about an expected displacement behaviour of the probe element relative to the probing unit due to induced forces emerging by moving the probing unit.
