IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD
The present invention relates to accurately determining a contour of a depolarizing region.
An image processing apparatus extracts a depolarizing region in a polarization-sensitive tomographic image of a subject's eye, and detects, in a tomographic intensity image of the subject's eye, a region corresponding to the extracted depolarizing region. The tomographic intensity image corresponds to the polarization-sensitive tomographic image,
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENDOSCOPIC ANGLE-RESOLVED LOW COHERENCE INTERFEROMETRY
A method of assessing tissue health comprises the steps of obtaining depth-resolved spectra of a selected area of in vivo tissue, and assessing the health of the selected area based on the depth-resolved structural information of the scatterers. Obtaining depth-resolved spectra of the selected area comprises directing a sample beam towards the selected area at an angle, and receiving an angle-resolved scattered sample beam. The angle-resolved scattered sample beam is cross-correlated with the reference beam to produce an angle-resolved cross-correlated signal about the selected area, which is spectrally dispersed to yield an angle-resolved, spectrally-resolved cross-correlation profile having depth-resolved information about the selected area. The angle-resolved, spectrally-resolved cross-correlation profile is processed to obtain depth-resolved information about scatterers in the selected area.
Multi-fiber optical probe and optical coherence tomography system
Multichannel optical coherence systems and methods involving optical coherence tomography (OCT) subsystems are operably and respectively connected to optical fibers of a multichannel optical probe, such that each optical fiber forms at least a distal portion of a sample beam path of a respective OCT subsystem. The optical fibers are in optical communication with distal optical elements such that external beam paths associated therewith are directed towards a common spatial region external to the housing. Image processing computer hardware is employed to process OCT signals obtained from the plurality of OCT subsystems to generate an OCT image dataset comprising a plurality of OCT A-scans and process the OCT image dataset to generate volumetric image data based on known positions and orientations of the external beam paths associated with the OCT subsystems.

Common lens transmitter for motion compensated illumination
A laser transmission apparatus utilizing multiple laser beams and beam paths with a diverger lens to provide an illumination pattern that can compensate for lateral movement of the platform during shearography is provided. Further, this optical setup requires no moving parts and does not reduce power of the laser beams as they move through the individual components thereof. From the perspective of the surface being scanned or inspected, the present disclosure may provide two laser images of a single surface that appear to be identical despite the fact that they were taken from two different spatial positions of the moving platform.
