Portable thermal insulated apparatus
11702272 · 2023-07-18 · ·

A portable thermal insulated apparatus for cooling or heating items stored therein. The thermal insulated apparatus includes a container having a lid that removably secures to an open first end thereof and a reservoir unit that removably secures to an open second end. The container includes an inner tube and an outer tube forming an insulated double-wall sealed at both ends in which the lid and reservoir unit can be connected thereto. The reservoir unit removably receives a thermal unit that provides cooling or heating to the contents of the container when affixed thereto. The thermal unit is separable from the reservoir unit, such that the thermal units are interchangeable as needed. In some embodiments, the thermal unit is directly securable to the lid and the second end of the container is permanently sealed.

Sensor and control systems for food preparation

A temperature-regulating unit includes a base, a thermal element, a contactless sensing assembly, and a controller. The base is configured to support at least one of a pan or a food product. The thermal element is positioned to thermally regulate the at least one of the pan or the food product. The contactless sensing assembly is positioned to acquire sensor data regarding the at least one of the pan or the food product. The controller is configured to receive the sensor data from the contactless sensing assembly and adaptively control the thermal element based on the sensor data.

Low cost container condition monitor

Low-cost techniques for sensing ambient temperatures in a container or package using phase change materials are provided. In one aspect, a temperature sensor is provided. The temperature sensor includes: at least one phase change material configured to transition from an amorphous state to a crystalline state upon exposure to temperatures above a predetermined threshold temperature for a given duration. A method of monitoring temperature exposure of a consumer good using the temperature sensor is also provided.

SENSOR AND CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR FOOD PREPARATION

A temperature-regulating unit includes a base, a resonant tank, and a controller. The base is configured to support a pan. The resonant tank includes a coil and a capacitor. The resonant tank has a resonant frequency that is affected by a material of the pan and a temperature of the pan. The controller is configured to receive a temperature setting, monitor the resonant frequency, determine the material of the pan based on the resonant frequency, determine the temperature of the pan based on the resonant frequency, and adaptively control a thermal element based on the temperature of the pan, the material of the pan, and the temperature setting.

INORGANIC THERMOCHROMIC ADDITIVE FOR AN INORGANIC CERAMIC COATING COMPOSITION

The present invention relates to an inorganic thermochromic additive for an inorganic ceramic coating composition, comprising a thermally colour-changeable yellow inorganic pigment, a thermally colour-changeable green inorganic pigment, and optionally a white inorganic pigment. It also relates to a thermally colour-changeable ceramic coating composition comprising the inorganic thermochromic additive and the inorganic ceramic coating composition. The present invention further provides a kit for preparing the thermally colour-changeable ceramic coating composition. The present invention further relates to an artefact, in particular a cookware item coated with the thermally colour-changeable ceramic coating composition, and to the use of the thermally colour-changeable ceramic coating composition for coating an artefact, in particular a cookware item.

Cooking vessel with a thermal sensor

According to one example, a cookware apparatus includes a vessel. The vessel includes a bottom, and a sidewall surrounding the bottom and extending upward from the bottom so as to form a fluid retaining interior region. The sidewall terminates at a rim. The vessel also includes a channel extending through a portion of the bottom and further extending upward into and through a portion of the sidewall. The channel has an opening positioned in an external surface of the sidewall. The cookware apparatus further includes a thermal sensor positioned within the channel. The thermal sensor extends through the portion of the bottom and further extends upward into and through the portion of the sidewall.

A set of mugs has at least three mugs, each of the at least three mugs having a first printing and a second printing. The second printing is of thermochromatic paint which is positioned to selectively obscure the first printing at room temperature. The second printing is identical on each of the at least three mugs, and the first printing is not visible, so that the at least three mugs cannot be distinguished from each other when the at least three mugs are at room temperature. Each of the at least three mugs has a different indicia formed by the first printing, the first printing being visible when the at least three mugs are at an elevated temperature and the thermochromatic paint of the second printing is transparent.
