Liquid pressure and level sensor systems and sensors, methods, and applications therefor
Pressure sensor systems for measuring a liquid pressure and deriving a liquid level from the measured pressure using gas pressure sensing devices. In one embodiment, liquid pressure results in compression or decompression of a trapped gas (as an example, air), wherein the gas pressure is detected by a gas pressure sensing device directly or a gas pressure sensing device that is protected inside a flexible pouch filled with a liquid. In another embodiment, a gas pressure sensing device is packaged in a flexible pouch filled with an inert liquid to protect the sensing device and circuit thereof from external contaminants while accurately transferring pressure from the liquid through a protective barrier. Application of such sensors in a wireless flood or a wireless liquid level measurement system is described as well.
Gas turbine swirl detection
A non-transitory computer readable medium with instructions stored thereon, the instructions executable by one or more processors for calculating base swirl in a gas turbine; and calculating relative swirl in the gas turbine. Also, a method for gas turbine maintenance, comprising identifying a combustor in need of repair or replacement within a gas turbine; and repairing or replacing the combustor; wherein said identifying comprises calculating base swirl of the gas turbine and calculating relative swirl of the gas turbine in order to associate a gas path from a thermocouple to the combustor in need of repair or replacement.

Method and corresponding circuit for detecting an opening or closing event
A method includes collecting, at a building opening, air pressure signals from a pressure sensor and sound signals from a sound sensor. The method also includes sensing pressure peaks occurring in the air pressure signals and sensing sound pulses occurring in the sound signals. A joint occurrence of a pressure peak in the air pressure signals and a sound pulse in the sound signals is indicative of an opening/closing event of the building opening.

Resettable overpressure indicator for aircraft
An overpressure indicator is defined by a housing sized and configured for attachment within a compartment interior, such as an aircraft nacelle. A pressure sensing element disposed within the housing is coupled to an indicator element and is configured to detect a pressure differential between the interior and exterior of the compartment. The indicator element is caused to move in response to a predetermined change in pressure exceeding a threshold pressure differential. The indicator element includes a distal end that is moved to a position exterior of the housing and the compartment, providing a visual indication of an overpressure condition. A reset feature provided on the indicator can only be accessed by first opening the compartment in which the indicator has been mounted. A spring can be provided to assist in the triggering of the indicator member after the threshold pressure differential has been detected.
Autonomous and irreversible pressure variation detector
A device for detecting a sudden pressure variation in a fluid, including a housing open at one of its ends, a wall closing the housing to create a chamber, the wall being configured such that, when the external pressure outside the chamber is substantially stable or varies slowly, the internal pressure of the chamber is close to the external pressure, and the wall having mechanical characteristics such that it breaks when subjected to a predetermined difference between the external pressure and the internal pressure.
