A trunnion roller thrust measurement assembly includes a trunnion roller assembly and a thrust measurement assembly. The trunnion roller assembly includes a roller configured to provide rotary support of a rotary drum; a shaft attached to the roller, the shaft being aligned with an axis of rotation of the roller; and a bearing housing configured support an end of the shaft. The thrust measurement assembly includes a bearing housing end cap attachable to an end of the bearing housing; and one or more thrust sensors disposed on the bearing housing end cap. The one or more thrust sensors are configured to sense a thrust force exerted on the bearing housing end cap by an axial displacement of the shaft. An adjustment mechanism is utilized to skew the roller based on the sensed thrust force.
Dual-band magnetoelastic torque sensor
A torque sensor is provided. The torque sensor includes a shaft configured to receive an applied torque. The shaft includes a first region and a second region, both regions being magnetoelastic. The first region and the second region generate a first magnetic field and a second magnetic field in response to the applied torque. The shaft also includes a third region disposed between the first region and the second region. The third region generates a substantially negligible magnetic field in response to the applied torque. The torque sensor also includes a first sensor disposed adjacent to the first region, a second sensor disposed adjacent to the second region, and a third sensor disposed adjacent the third region. The first sensor senses the first magnetic field, the second sensor senses the second magnetic field, and the third sensor senses an ambient magnetic field.
STATE DETERMINATION DEVICE FOR HUB UNIT BEARING, STATE DETERMINATION METHOD FOR HUB UNIT BEARING, PROGRAM, AND HUB UNIT BEARING
A state determination device for a hub unit bearing includes: a holding unit that holds reference information of magnetic characteristics at a predetermined position in the vicinity of a flange portion included in the hub unit bearing; an acquisition unit that acquires measurement information of the magnetic characteristics at the predetermined position of the hub unit bearing; a derivation unit that derives a change amount between the reference information held by the holding unit and the measurement information acquired by the acquisition unit; and a determination unit that determines a state of the hub unit bearing based on the change amount derived by the derivation unit. The predetermined position is a position at which the magnetic characteristics vary with a stress change with respect to the flange portion.
LOAD DETERMINING SYSTEM FOR A ROLLING ELEMENT BEARING
A load determining system having a sensorized rolling element bearing in a hub unit for wheels. The bearing includes a first ring and a second ring as an inner and outer ring. The first and second ring may be the inner ring, the other ring being the outer ring. The system includes at least two magnetic sensors attached to the first ring interact with a target wheel attached to the second ring. The system includes a signal processing unit configured to receive the magnetic sensor output of the at least one magnetic sensor, to determine at least axial forces acting on the bearing based on the amplitude of the magnetic sensor output and to calculate averages value of the outputs of the at least two magnetic sensors and to calculate a logarithm of a ratio of the average values to determine a load acting on the bearing.
Torque detection device and magnetic sensor module
A torsion bar of a torque detection device converts torque applied between an input shaft and an output shaft to a torsional displacement. A pair of yokes is secured to the output shaft, and forms a magnetic circuit in a magnetic field of a multipolar magnet secured to the input shaft. A magnetic flux guide member has a main body facing the yoke to guide magnetic flux of the magnetic circuit. A magnetic sensor is placed at an extension, and detects magnetic flux guided by the magnetic flux guide member. The magnetic flux guide member is configured to allow magnetic permeance per unit area between the magnetic flux guide member and the yoke to be greater at a location in the main body from which the extension is branched, than at a circumferential end portion of the main body.
Device for measuring force in the rolling bearing by means of a sensor layer
A measurement bearing is provided. The measurement bearing has a rolling bearing, at least one force-introducing ring and a space for at least one sensor layer, the space being surrounded by the at least one force-introducing ring and at least one other adjacent component of the measurement bearing.
Method for estimating a bearing load using strain parameters to account for contact angle variation
A method for estimating a bearing load in a bearing having a first ring, a second ring and a row of rolling elements arranged between the first ring and the second ring, the method including: equipping the first ring with at least one strain sensor probe, transmitting a strain signal waveform from the at least one strain sensor probe to an electronic control unit, extracting shape information of the waveform of the strain signal using a first harmonic component (u) and a second harmonic component (v) of the strain signal, and calculating a bearing load estimation as a polynomial function of the first and second harmonic components (u, v) of the strain signal.
MEASUREMENT SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING TRUNNION BEARING ASSEMBLIES FOR A ROTARY DRUM
