APPARATUS FOR MEASURING THE PRESSURE AND FLOW RATE OF A HIGH TEMPERATURE CORROSIVE LIQUID
An apparatus for measuring a pressure of a corrosive or high temperature process liquid includes a pressure sensor in communication with the process liquid via a vertical tube. A buffer gas injected into the vertical tube forms a liquid/gas interface at a desired height. The buffer gas supply is then either isolated or regulated so as to cause the buffer gas pressure within the vertical tube to remain equal with the process liquid pressure. The pressure sensor indirectly measures the process liquid pressure by measuring the buffer gas pressure within the vertical tube, while remaining chemically and thermally protected from the process liquid. In embodiments, pressure measurements from a pair of gas buffered pressure sensors located upstream and downstream of a valve are combined with measurements of the process liquid temperature to determine a flow rate of the process liquid through the valve.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING WATERTIGHTNESS IN THE ANNULAR SPACE OF FLEXIBLE LINES
The present invention relates to a system for detecting the watertightness or flooding of the annulus of flexible lines from a connector, comprising: an assembly of plunger (3) and cylinder (4) that are connected by a rod to a chamber (19) that acts as a pilot valve, connected directly to the outlet of a safety valve of a connector of the flexible line, in which same are fitted using a sealing system (6). The system is operated by commands sent to the ROV (2) that has an arm (21) and that controls the system using a handle (9). The present invention also describes the operating method of the device and how the obtained results lead to a preprogrammed conclusion regarding the watertightness (or otherwise) of the annulus. Other methods are provided to obtain fluid samples in the annulus for subsequent analysis and enable the safety valve to be removed from the connectors.
3D contact force sensing
Contact-force-sensing systems that can provide additional information about the forces that are applied by catheters and other devices to cell walls and other surfaces. One example can provide directional information for a contact-force-sensing system. For example, magnitude, plane angle, and off-plane angle information can be provided by a contact-force-sensing system. Another example can provide guiding functionality for a contact-force-sensing system. For example, a contact-force-sensing system can provide tactile response to a surgeon or operator to allow a device to be accurately guided though a body.
Pressure sensor
The invention concerns a pressure sensor including means of sensing pressure and converting pressure into an electrical signal able to be transmitted by an electrical circuit to an control interface circuit of an indicator device, wherein said sensing and conversion means include: a closed volume and a liquid contained in the closed volume, said liquid being electrically conductive and capable of moving inside said closed volume, at least one sensing member arranged inside the closed volume in a given position in said volume, said sensing member including at least one pair of electrodes and cooperating with the liquid when said liquid moves in the closed volume, so that said electrical circuit is closed when the liquid passes said sensing member. The pressure sensor is intended to be integrated in a pressure measuring device, particularly a timepiece.
