INTERNAL LEAK DETECTOR
This application relates to a leak detector device (100) for detecting an internal leak in a fluid path. The leak detector comprises a housing (110) with a flow passage (120) extending through the housing (110), one or more pairs of temperature sensors (130, 140) for detecting a temperature difference between an outside of the housing (110) and the flow passage (120), one temperature sensor of each pair being arranged towards an outer surface of the housing (110) and the other temperature sensor of the pair being arranged towards an innersurface of the housing (110) that faces the flow passage (120), and an array of electrically conductive wires (150, 160) that extend across the flow passage (120). The array of electrically conductive wires (150, 160) comprises one or more positive polarity wires and one or more negative polarity wires. The application further relates to a corresponding method of leak detection.
DETECTING EMISSIONS FROM VALVE PACKING
A sensor configured to measure rate of flow of fugitive emissions on a flow control. The configurations may include devices that are sensitive to low flow or low pressure. These devices may include piezo-electric films or foams. These materials may deflect in response to flow of fluid along the outer surface of the reciprocating shaft. In one implementation, the embodiments can generate average leak rate over time and measure against regulation or specifications to ensure appropriate operation (e.g., leak suppression) of the flow control. Storing this data can provide a database of information that allows operators to benchmark performance of the flow control, for example, to correlate leaks to a certain date or time. This feature may, in turn, permit the operators to also correlate the device-specific performance to overall plant or network operations.
Determining operational health of a pump
Apparatus and methods for determining operational health of a pump. An example method may include commencing operation of a processing device to monitor operational health of a pump for pumping a fluid at a wellsite, wherein the pump may be a reciprocating pump. During pumping operations of the pump, the processing device may receive pressure measurements of the fluid at a fluid inlet manifold and/or a fluid outlet manifold of the pump, receive position measurements of fluid displacing members of the pump, detect irregular pressure measurements based on the received pressure measurements, determine operational phase of the pump based on the received position measurements, and determine which of fluid inlet and outlet valves of the pump is leaking based on operational phase during which the irregular pressure measurements are detected.
CONTROLLING A VACUUM SYSTEM COMPRISING A VACUUM GENERATOR ARRANGEMENT
The invention relates to energy saving in vacuum systems by means of a method and a controller enabling to consider the fluctuation in system-pressure of a system by determining a maximum system-pressure S2H and a minimum system-pressure S2h for each working cycle W.sub.C based on a determined target system-pressure p.sub.n.sup.− and a pre-set system-pressure p.sub.0.sup.− for the current working cycle W.sub.Cn (n=1, 2, 3, . . . ). The method is especially adapted to fluctuations in system-pressure level of a vacuum system comprising a vacuum gripper tool.
LEAK DETECTOR
A leak detector assembly for use with a backflow prevention device includes a housing defining a passageway for receiving a fluid. A flap assembly couples to the housing for generating a low flow error signal indicating minimal fluid passing through the passageway and a fully actuated error signal indicating significant fluid passing through the passageway. The flap assembly includes a flap mounted in the passageway such that significant flow of the fluid moves the flap to generate the fully actuated error signal. The flap assembly also includes a sensing element on the flap to determine a presence of the fluid without movement of the flap to generate the low flow error signal based on a low flow of the fluid.
Fuel monitoring system
A CNG leak detection system has a plurality of CNG tanks. A plurality of control valve mechanisms, equal in number to the plurality of CNG tanks, is coupled with each CNG tank. A sensor is coupled with each control valve mechanism. The sensor monitors the CNG in the tank. A processor is electrically coupled with the sensor. A display is coupled with the processor to display the sensed condition of at least one desired tank of the plurality of tanks.
FLUID DETECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS USING THE SAME
Fluid detection systems and methods using the same are disclosed. In embodiments the fluid detection systems include a sensor module and an electronics module. The sensor module includes a sensor housing that includes a liquid flow path and a sensor element disposed around at least part of the liquid flow path. The sensor element can detect a capacitance of the liquid flow path and provide a sensor signal to a controller in the electronics module. The electronics module can determine a detected capacitance in the liquid flow path based at least in part on the sensor signal, and can determine whether a wet event has occurred based on a comparison of the detected capacitance to a threshold capacitance. Methods using the fluid detection systems and fluid supply systems including the fluid detection systems are also disclosed.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR DETECTING AND CONTROLLING LEAKS OF LIQUIDS OR GASES
Described herein are systems, devices, and methods for detecting leaks or blockages of liquids or gases in a transporting network. In various embodiments, ether a flow or pressure detector is attached to the network, changes are sensed over time, and data about flow or pressure is sent to and from a controller. In alternative embodiments, static and dynamic states are identified to discover relatively small leaks or blockages, sometimes by emptying the network in whole or in part. In some embodiments, aggregate measurement data is processed to identify usage and performance features particular to the transporting network, which allows a continuous improvement in the measurement of leaks and flow direction. In some embodiments, one detector can measure changes in multiple paths of the transporting network. In some embodiments, corrective action is taken automatically, while in other embodiments human operators order corrective action.
