20230009301 · 2023-01-12 ·

A flow regulation device for volatile and semi-volatile sampling onto adsorbent media is provided. The flow regulation device includes a housing having an inlet, an outlet, a secondary inlet that is open to the ambient, a real time flow meter, a controller in electronic communication with the flow meter, and a three-way valve. Gas is drawn through the adsorbent media, into the inlet, and then to the outlet by a vacuum source joined to the outlet. The controller is configured to: (1) actuate the three-way valve to put the vacuum source in-line with the inlet; (2) continuously monitor the flow of gas through the inlet and calculate the time necessary to sample a pre-set volume of gas; and (3) after the pre-set volume of gas passes through the inlet, actuate the three-way valve to put the vacuum source in-line with the secondary inlet.

Molecular detection apparatus

A molecular detection apparatus includes a detector. The detector includes: a vibrator having a piezoelectric member that has a first surface and a second surface, a first electrode connected to the first surface, a second electrode connected to the second surface, and a third electrode connected to the second surface and disconnected from the second electrode; a sensitive film overlapping at least one part of the second electrode and at least one part of the third electrode and configured to change a vibration frequency of the vibrator in response to an interaction with target molecules; and a detection electrode to detect the changed vibration frequency.

Passive sampler

A passive sampling device is provided that is comprised of a member having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface and a hole through the member extending from the first surface to the second surface. An adsorbent material is positioned between two mesh members. The adsorbent material allows for efficient and selective removal of organic molecules, such as, for example, perfluoroalkyl substances.

Airborne particle monitoring system with illumination and imaging

An airborne biological particle monitoring device collects particles floating in air. The monitoring device includes a processor, a camera sensor, and a set of approximately monochromatic illumination sources that correspond to a set of spectral curves. The camera sensor captures images of the particles providing a spectral analysis of the particles. The processor analyzes the images to identify the collected particles.

Methods, apparatuses, and systems associated with aerosol collection devices (such as, but not limited to, breath-aerosol collector devices, breathalyzers) are provided.

LIQUID IMPINGER SAMPLING SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Disclosed is a liquid impinger, for example a liquid impinger, particularly a disposable liquid impinger. The liquid impinger comprises, for example, at least one nozzle positioned in the interior and attached to the bottom portion. In some aspects, the liquid impinger comprises a polymeric material. Also disclosed are methods of making the liquid impinger comprising, for example, forming at least two components, assembling the at least two components into the liquid impinger, filling the liquid impinger with liquid, and exposing the filled liquid impinger to radiation for sterilization prior to use. Also disclosed are methods of using the liquid impinger, for example, by transporting a gas comprising analytes through the liquid impinger and transferring at least a portion of the analytes from the gas into the liquid contained therein. The method further comprises, for example, after transferring analytes form the gas into the liquid, incubating and/or detecting at least a portion of the analytes in the liquid without removing the liquid from the liquid impinger.

METHOD FOR MEASURING CONDENSABLE PARTICULATE MATTERS FORMED FROM EXHAUST GAS

The present invention relates to a method for measuring condensable particulate matters formed from exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, including the steps of sucking exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine; diluting the sucked exhaust gas to simulate it to atmospheric condition; a first measurement step of branching some of the exhaust gas of the atmospheric condition and measuring particulate matters including condensable particulate matters and filterable particulate matters; a second measurement step of branching the rest of the exhaust gas of the atmospheric condition to remove the condensable particulate matters and measuring the particulate matters including only the filterable particulate matters; and comparing the first measurement step and the second measurement step to calculate an amount of the condensable particulate matters in the exhaust gas of the atmospheric condition.

Fluid sensor system and method for analysing fluid

A sensor system comprising a housing having an inlet aperture through which fluid enters the housing and a conditioning material in the housing, the conditioning material being adapted to control levels of a substance within the housing. The sensor system comprises a sensor for analysing the fluid in the housing. The sensor system comprises circulation means which is configured to alternate circulation of fluid within the housing between a sensing fluid path in which the fluid is analysed by the sensor and a second fluid path in which the fluid flow is conditioned. A method for analysing fluid in a housing using a sensor is also provided.
