Apparatus, method, and system for indication of an oxidative treatment
An indicator and method of use thereof, and indicator system and method of use thereof are provided to determine the degree of an oxidative treatment. An indicator is incorporated into the oxidative treatment. The object and the indicator are subjected to the oxidative treatment. A discoloration of the indicator occurs based on an oxidation of the polymer by a process condition of the oxidative treatment oxidizing the polymer. The discoloration of the indicator is measured against a threshold color value to determine the degree of the oxidative treatment.
Optical component
The invention is concerned with methods for producing a useful and highly uniform optical component which is useful in the construction of an optical sensor. Also discussed are the optical component itself, an optical sensor comprising the optical component, a process for producing the optical sensor and a process for detecting and/or quantifying the amount of an analyte in a sample using the optical sensor.

The present invention relates a sensor assembly for analyzing a complex fluid sample. The sensor assembly comprises a sample chamber for holding the complex fluid sample, the sample chamber being defined by chamber walls and having an inlet and an outlet defining a direction of flow from the inlet towards the outlet for fluid handling in the sample chamber. The sample chamber comprises a first sample space and a second sample space. The second sample space comprises a porous membrane sensor element for detecting an analyte in a continuous fraction of the complex fluid sample. The porous membrane sensor element comprises a porous membrane with a front side defining a sensor surface for contacting the fluid sample, the sensor surface facing towards the second sample space, the porous membrane comprising pores extending from respective openings at the sensor surface into the porous membrane. The pores are configured with regard to the analyte for diffusive fluid communication with the second sample space. The sample chamber further comprises a flow-perturbing element arranged upstream of the second sample space, between the first sample space and the second sample space.
In situ sensing of water potential
The present invention relates to a method for in situ sensing of water stress in a plant by contacting a plant with a biosensor, where the biosensor comprises a material capable of giving a detectable response to changes in local water potential in the plant and detecting the detectable response thereby sensing water stress in the plant. The invention further relates to a method for determining water potential in a substance, a biosensor, a system for determining water potential in a substance, a method for determining water potential in a substance, a water potential measurement computing device, and a non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon instructions for determining water potential in a substance.
Optochemical sensor and method
The present disclosure discloses an optochemical sensor for determining a measurand correlating with a concentration of an analyte in a measuring fluid, comprising: a housing having an immersion region configured for immersing in the measuring fluid; a removable cap having a sensor spot, the removable cap removably arranged at the immersion region of the housing, wherein the sensor spot is disposed on a circumferential face; a radiation source disposed in the housing for radiating excitation radiation into the removable cap, wherein a deflection module is disposed in the removable cap as to deflect excitation radiation radiated into the removable cap; a radiation receiver disposed in the housing for receiving received radiation emitted by the sensor spot; and a sensor circuit disposed in the housing and configured to control the radiation source, receive signals of the radiation receiver, and generate output signals based on the signals of the radiation receiver.
IMMOBILIZATION OF INSOLUBLE PARTICLES IN POLYMER
A method of immobilization of an insoluble dopant. In some embodiments, the insoluble dopant comprises a coordination polymer. In some embodiments, the insoluble dopant comprises a vapochromic coordination polymer. The method may comprise dissolving a polymer carrier in a solvent. The polymer carrier may comprise a thermoplastic such as, but not limited to, polylactic acid, polyethylene glycol or polycarbonate. The insoluble dopant (e.g. a coordination polymer such as a vapochromic coordination polymer) may then be mixed into the dissolved polymer. Phase separation of the mixture of the dopant and dissolved polymer may be induced to form a hydrogel. The hydrogel may be employed as is (e.g. as a raw material for hydrogel 3D printing, as a sensing material, etc.) or may undergo further processing (e.g. solidification, grinding, extrusion, etc.) before being employed, for example, as a raw material for 3D printing, as a sensing material, etc.
Photonic gas sensor and method for producing a photonic gas sensor
A photonic gas sensor and a method for producing a photonic gas sensor are disclosed. In an embodiment a photonic gas sensor includes a component housing with at least one cavity, a radiation-emitting semiconductor chip arranged in the cavity and configured to transmit electromagnetic radiation in a first wavelength range, a radiation-detecting semiconductor chip arranged in the cavity and configured to detect electromagnetic radiation in a second wavelength range and an active sensor element having a fluorescent dye configured to emit electromagnetic radiation in the second wavelength range upon being excited by electromagnetic radiation in the first wavelength range, wherein an intensity of the emitted electromagnetic radiation in the second wavelength range changes reversibly in presence of a gas to be detected.
Gas detection element
A gas detection element for detection of a measurement target gas is provided. The gas detection element includes a gas detection layer including a chemochromic pigment; and a spacer. The spacer is permeable to the measurement target gas, is disposed on a first surface of the gas detection layer, and has an area smaller than an area of the gas detection layer.
