Waveform processing assistance method and system
Provided is a waveform processing assistance system for helping users determine the value of a parameter which is necessary in a waveform processing method for determining the rising and falling points of a peak and whose validity cannot be easily and intuitively determined The system includes: a waveform displayer for showing, on a display screen, a waveform including a peak; a marker displayer for showing, on the display screen, a marker which is capable of being moved by a user; and a slope information displayer for showing information related to the slope of the waveform at a point lying on the waveform and meeting the marker, or at a point which lies on the waveform, which meets the marker, and at which a predetermined operation has been performed by the user. Examples of the slope-related information include a numerical value of the slope, a tangent, and a grid.
Logical triggering in the frequency domain
A frequency mask trigger capable of triggering based on a logical combination of two or more areas of a frequency mask transforms a frame of digital data representing an input signal into a frequency spectrum having a plurality of frequency bins, with each frequency bin having a power amplitude value. A frequency mask is defined having a plurality of reference power levels, one reference power level being associated with each frequency bin. Two or more areas of the frequency mask are defined, with each mask area corresponding to one or more of the frequency bins. A violation status is determined for each mask area by comparing all of the power amplitude values within each mask area to the associated reference power level. If any of the power amplitude values within the mask area violates the associated reference power level, then the entire mask area is deemed to be violated. A trigger signal is generated when a logical combination of the violation statuses of the mask areas is satisfied.
DIGITAL OSCILLOSOPE AND OSCILLOGRAM GENERATION SYSTEM
A digital oscilloscope includes a video input interface, a data processing system, a video output interface, and a clock system. The video input interface is configured to receive a digital video signal; the data processing system receives the digital video signal and processes the digital video signal to generate an oscillogram signal, which includes an oscillogram image and further includes one of a menu image and a frame image of the digital video signal; and the video output interface is connected to the data processing system, receives the oscillogram signal and outputs it to external terminals. The oscilloscope can display a variety of image information, with high intuitiveness, simplified structure, improved portability, and is convenient to use in outdoor places.
TRIGGER ON FINAL OCCURRENCE
This disclosure relates generally to test and measurement instruments structured to detect that a series of events occurred, and structured to generate a trigger signal in response to detecting that a final event in the series of events occurred. The trigger may be generated based on a timeout signal, or based on another event, trigger, or signal. Stored data in the acquisition memory may be marked relative to the detection of the final event. An external forced timeout signal may control which in a series of events is marked as a final event. The triggering on final event may be enabled after another trigger is satisfied, and may be used as one of many different types of triggers.
Method for selecting waveforms on electronic test equipment
A method for operating a data processing system having a touch enabled display screen that displays a plurality of waveforms to alter the display of one of the waveforms without altering the display of the remaining waveforms is disclosed. The method includes determining a selected waveform in response to a user touching the display screen in a first location thereby defining a touch area that determines the selected waveform. An operation that is to be performed on the selected waveform is then defined by a gesture on the screen. The selected waveform is determined by a touch area that is defined by the user touching the screen. If more than one waveform is defined by the touch area, the possible waveforms are sequentially selected until the correct one is presented to the user in response to the user repeating the touching that defines the touch area.
WAVEFORM DISPLAY DEVICE
Provided is a waveform display device that can easily designate an analysis target range just by selecting a location to be analyzed with regard to a tool trajectory. This waveform display device comprises: a positional information acquisition unit that acquires, from a control device that controls a machine tool, motor positional information for a drive shaft of the machine tool during workpiece machining; a shaft information setting unit that sets shaft information indicating the shaft configuration of the drive shaft of the machine tool; a tool trajectory display unit that calculates the trajectory of a tool tip point during workpiece machining by a tool mounted on the machine tool on the basis of the motor positional information and the shaft information and displays the trajectory as a waveform; an analysis target setting unit that sets an analysis target position relating to the trajectory of the tool tip point; an analysis target range generation unit that generates and displays an analysis target range containing a solid body including the set analysis target position; and a measurement point sorting unit that sorts out and displays a measurement point included in the analysis target range generated by the analysis target range generation unit from within the trajectory of the tool tip point.
Measurement system and method for generating a trigger signal for a measurement system
A measurement system has an analog channel comprising an analog-to-digital converter for converting an external analog input signal into a corresponding digital input signal, an external trigger input for receiving an external trigger signal comprising a comparator configured to compare the external trigger signal against a trigger threshold signal for generating a binary trigger signal, and a digital signal processing unit. The digital signal processing unit comprises a digital trigger unit configured to receive the digital input signal and to generate at least one trigger event signal based on the digital input signal, and a trigger logic unit configured to receive the at least one trigger event signal and the binary trigger signal to generate a combined trigger signal. Further, a method for generating a trigger signal for a measurement system is described.

PEAK SELECTION ASSISTANCE FOR RF SPECTRUM ANALYSIS
In order to improve the analysis of the RF interferences, there is provided a peak selection assistance method for finding a local peak in an RF spectrum trace. The method provides a window on the spectrum trace display, which can be configured and/or moved by a user from user interaction on said user interface. When the window is defined, the method finds the highest peak within the window and optionally adds a marker on it. The method therefore snaps to the highest peak within the window. This improves the way of precisely detecting the maximum amplitude and the center frequency for any local peak on the spectrum.
ANNOTATED DECODE OF OSCILLOSCOPE SIGNALS
Signal analysis arrangements and techniques for electrical signals monitored by oscilloscope devices are discussed herein. In one example, a method includes obtaining one or more digital images that capture an oscilloscope user interface presenting a trace of a signal monitored by the oscilloscope, and processing at least the trace in the one or more digital images to decode a connotation of the signal. Based at least on the connotation, the method includes generating an annotation overlay indicating one or more characteristics of the signal.
