The present application provides a method, apparatus and electronic equipment for recognizing a posture of a target, a first receiving signal and a second receiving signal upon scattering of a transmitting signal from a target to be recognized are acquired, a first baseband signal is determined according to the first receiving signal and the transmitting signal, and a second baseband signal is determined according to the second receiving signal and the transmitting signal; and a category of the posture of the target to be recognized is finally determined according to the first baseband signal and the second baseband signal. The first baseband signal and the second baseband signal carry various feature values related to the posture of the target, including but not limited to transversal velocity information and radial velocity information, etc.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING ANGLE INFORMATION
A method for determining angle information about a direction of a target object in a radar system for a vehicle, wherein the following steps are performed: providing a first item of sensing information for a first modulation mode of the radar system, providing at least one second item of sensing information for at least a second modulation mode of the radar system, and combining the sensing information for the different modulation modes in order to perform the determination of the angle information on the basis of the combined sensing information.

The present disclosure is a system comprising at least three electronically steered antennas arranged so that there is a baseline difference of a predetermined amount of wavelength between the centers of the antennas, typically configured as an obtuse or scalene triangle, where the distance between each antenna on an array is selected to provide the required accuracy and precision, the array having a timing circuit to ensure that the beam of each antenna is steered to the same azimuthal and elevation coordinates in space simultaneously. This enables the three electronically steered antennas to operate as an interferometer to determine a bearing to a target to ultimately determine the location thereof. The electronically steered antennas enable the system to be mounted on a platform in a small package that was previously difficult for traditional interferometers.

Calibration of a radar system using plurality of phase shifted oscillator signals
A method for calibrating a radar system includes generating an RF oscillator signal and distributing the RF oscillator signal to a plurality of phase shifters each providing a respective phase-shifted RF oscillator signal; receiving the phase-shifted RF oscillator signals by corresponding radar chips and radiating the phase-shifted RF oscillator signal via a first RF output channel of a first one of the radar chips; receiving a back-scattered signal by at least one RF input channel of each radar chip and generating a plurality of base-band signals by down-converting the received signals into a base band using the phase-shifted RF oscillator signals received by the corresponding radar chips; determining a phase for each base-band signal; and adjusting the phase shifts caused by the phase shifters such that the phases of the base-band signals match a predefined phase-over-antenna-position characteristic.
Radar system to detect angles in bistatic and monostatic scenarios
This document describes techniques and systems to enable a radar system to detect angles in bistatic and monostatic scenarios. In some examples, an automotive radar system includes one or more processors. The processors can obtain electromagnetic (EM) energy reflected by objects and generate, based on the reflected EM energy, a two-dimensional (2D) data matrix. The 2D data matrix has a number of rows corresponding to the number of antenna elements in a transmitter array and a number of columns corresponding to the number of antenna elements in a receiver array. Using the 2D data matrix, the processors can determine DoA estimates and DoD estimates in monostatic and bistatic scenarios. By comparing the DoA estimates to the DoD estimates, the processors can determine an angle associated with the objects. In this way, the described techniques and systems can enable angle detection in monostatic and bistatic conditions with improved angular resolution and reduced cost.
Radar based three dimensional point cloud for autonomous vehicles
Example embodiments described herein involve determining three dimensional data representative of an environment for an autonomous vehicle using radar. An example embodiment involves receiving radar reflection signals at a radar unit coupled to a vehicle and determining an azimuth angle and a distance for surfaces in the environment causing the radar reflection signals. The embodiment further involves determining an elevation angle for the surfaces causing the radar reflection signals based on phase information of the radar reflection signals and controlling the vehicle based at least in part on the azimuth angle, the distance, and the elevation angle for the surfaces causing the plurality of radar reflection signals. In some instances, the radar unit is configured to receive radar reflection signals using a staggered linear array with one or multiple radiating elements offset in the array.

One embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a vehicle radar apparatus and a method of controlling the same. The radar apparatus according to the present embodiment may include an antenna unit including Nt transmitting antennas and Nr receiving antennas, wherein one of the Nt transmitting antennas is vertically offset from the other transmitting antennas, or one of the Nr receiving antennas is vertically offset from the other receiving antennas, a transceiver configured to control the Nt transmitting antennas to transmit a phase shift transmission signal having N different phase shift values (an) and control the Nr receiving antennas to receive a reflected signal reflected from a target, and a signal processor configured to determine a height (h) of the target based on a discrete phase shift value (a.sub.max) that is a phase shift value having the greatest reception power among N phase shift values.
High resolution automotive radar system with forward and backward difference co-array processing
A radar system, apparatus, architecture, and method are provided for generating a mono-static virtual array aperture by using a radar control processing unit to construct a mono-static MIMO virtual array aperture from radar signals transmitted orthogonally from transmit antennas and received at each receive antennas, and to construct a mono-static MIMO forward difference virtual array aperture by performing forward difference co-array processing on the mono-static MIMO virtual array aperture to fill in holes in the mono-static MIMO virtual array aperture, thereby mitigating or suppressing spurious sidelobes caused by gaps or holes in the mono-static MIMO virtual array aperture.
Electronic Devices with Angular Location Detection Capabilities
An electronic device may include wireless circuitry having a set of two or more antennas coupled to voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) sensors. The VSWR sensors may gather VSWR measurements from radio-frequency signals transmitted using the set of antennas. The antennas may be disposed on one or more substrates and/or may be formed from conductive portions of a housing. Control circuitry may process the VSWR measurements to identify the ranges between each of the antennas in the set of antennas and an external object. The control circuitry may process the ranges to identify an angular location of the external object with respect to the device. The control circuitry may adjust subsequent communications based, adjust the direction of a signal beam produced by a phased antenna array, identify a user input, or perform any other desired operations based on the angular location.
