CONTINUOUS AUTHENTICATION FOR DIGITAL SERVICES BASED ON CONTACTLESS CARD POSITIONING
20230050991 · 2023-02-16 · ·

Various embodiments are generally directed to continuous authentication of a user to a digital service based on activity of a contactless card positioned proximate to a computing device on which the digital service operates. For example, a series of periodic status messages may be provided between a client device and the contactless card to verify whether the contactless card remains active, wherein authorization to access the digital service continues while the contactless card is active, and terminates when the contactless card is inactive.

MODULAR DEVICE MESH NETWORK FOR ASSOCIATED DEVICE INTEGRATION

Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for facilitating a secure way to allow primary users and secondary users to perform interactions remotely via an automated machine and one or more auxiliary devices on the same local network. In particular, the system may assign exclusive control over an automated device and one or more auxiliary devices to a primary user via a computing device connected to the same local network or virtual private network as the automated machine, and may allow the primary user to communicate via the automated machine with a secondary user who wishes to complete one or more resource interactions.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR POINT OF SALE PAYMENT USING A MOBILE DEVICE

To conduct a payment transaction at a merchant's point of sale using a mobile device, the mobile device initiates an authenticated communication session with a payment agent. The payment agent is an entity responsible for facilitating a payment transaction between the merchant and purchaser via their respective financial institutions. During the authenticated communication session, response to an input indicating the user of the mobile device wishes to make a payment, the mobile device generates a unique payment key that is based on at least one unique data of the mobile device. The mobile device transmits the payment key to the payment agent, and then transfers a copy of the payment key to the point of sale system. The merchant's payment system that transmits the payment key to the payment agent in a transaction request. The payment agent then verifies that the received payment key is the same as they received from the mobile device, and that the authenticated communication session is still valid, and then approves the transaction.

CARD FOR SECURE PARKING VALIDATION

In some implementations, a card may communicate with an exchange terminal to complete the first exchange associated with an entity, wherein the first exchange is associated with the entity providing a validation of a second exchange associated with a charge for parking a vehicle. The card may receive, from the exchange terminal, an indication of the validation code based on communicating with the exchange terminal to complete the first exchange, wherein the validation code indicates the validation of the second exchange. The card may store the validation code and a time indicator associated with receiving the indication of the validation code. The card may transmit, to an exit terminal, an indication of the validation code and the time indicator to cause an amount associated with the second exchange to be at least partially reduced, wherein the exit terminal is associated with completing exchanges for vehicles parked in the location.

METHODS OF DETERMINING REDEMPTION OF CONTENT PROVIDED THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING USING A POS SYSTEM AND RELATED SYSTEMS

A method and system are provided for validating a promotional token redeemed at a Point-of-Sale (PoS) terminal, can include receiving, at the Point of Sale (PoS) terminal located at a physical retail location, a promotional token ID from a mobile device associated with a customer. The promotional token ID can be configured to uniquely identify a promotional token to promote a consumer packaged good (CPG) distributed on a social media platform. A CPG is entered at the PoS terminal to determine a CPG ID configured to uniquely identify the CPG. Next, a validation request is generated. The validation request comprises the promotional token ID and the CPG ID. The validation request is then transferred to a server having access to a private blockchain ledger. Upon completion, the PoS terminal will receive, from the server, the redemption status for the promotional token ID based on information stored in the private blockchain ledger responsive to the validation request.

Connected car as a payment device

Methods, systems, apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable media are described for using a vehicle as a payment device. Various aspects may include receiving a selection of a stored financial card or financial account at a vehicle head unit. The selected financial card or financial account may be transmitted to a point-of-sale (POS) terminal for making a payment by transmitting a tokenized card number to the POS terminal. The tokenized card number may be transmitted over a very short-range communication link to ensure that the transmission is secure. For example, electronic circuitry may be attached to the exterior of the vehicle, where the electronic circuitry may be within a threshold distance (e.g. one inch, three inches, six inches, one foot, three feet, etc.) of the POS terminal. The tokenized card number may be transmitted from the vehicle head unit to the electronic circuitry and then to the POS terminal.

NFC card verification

Methods and systems are provided for verifying the possession of a card, such as a credit card or a debit card, by a card user. Possession of the card can be verified, for example, when a purchase transaction, such as a telephone purchase transaction or an online purchase transaction, is attempted with the card and the purchase transaction is denied due to suspected account take over. Possession of the card can be verified by detecting the present of the card with a mobile device of the user, such as a smart phone. For example, possession of the card can be verified by near field communication (NFC) between the card and the mobile device, wherein the communication is sufficient to adequately determine the presence of the card.

Transaction authentication platform

A method and system are disclosed in an electronic payment network, for associating a payment card of a cardholder with a personal computing device of the cardholder, then authenticating the payment card in electronic transactions processed in the network. The card and a device activation code are input to the cardholder device by the cardholder, then communicated sent to a remote server for obtaining a card token. The server generates a device token and an authorisation token, stores the generated tokens together with the card token, and sends the card and device tokens to the cardholder device for storage. Whenever a transaction is processed in the network, the payment card is authenticated by inputting authenticating data to the cardholder device for generating an authorisation token, which is sent to the server with the stored card and device tokens, for a matching operation against the card, device and authorisation tokens at the server.

Electronic identification and authentication system

A system includes a service provider device and a point of sale (POS) device. A session between a user device and the POS device is established. An authentication request associated with the user device is provided via a user interface of the POS device. Subsequent to an authentication of information, responsive to the authentication request, the POS device receives funding instrument (FI) proxy information corresponding to FIs, which is unusable to identify the FIs by a merchant. A selectable representation corresponding to the FI proxy information is provided via the user interface. Responsive to receiving an indication of a selected member from the selectable representation, information for the selected member is sent. The service provider device determines that the session corresponds to an account associated with the user device and the merchant, and performs a transaction for the session using a first FI that corresponds to the selected member.

Batteryless payment device with wirelessly powered token provisioning

A batteryless payment device is disclosed. According to certain embodiments, the batteryless payment device may include a first communication system and a second communication system, the second communication system being a near-field-communication (NFC) system. The batteryless payment device may also include a power receiver coupled to the first communication system and configured to wirelessly receive power from an external device for powering the first communication system. The batteryless payment device may further include a controller configured to: when the first communication system is powered, establish, via the first communication system, a first wireless connection with a user device; receive, through the first wireless communication, a token from the user device; establish, via the second communication system, a second wireless connection with a payment terminal; and transmit, through the second wireless connection, the token to the payment terminal.
