ELECTRONIC BADGE TO AUTHENTICATE AND TRACK INDUSTRIAL VEHICLE OPERATOR

A system for controlling an industrial vehicle comprises an information linking device, a badge communicator, an operator badge, and a controller. The controller controls the industrial vehicle operating state by identifying that an operator possessing the operator badge has approached the industrial vehicle, communicating with the server via the information linking device to authenticate the operator as authorized to operate the industrial vehicle, and pairing the operator badge with the industrial vehicle upon determining that the operator is authorized to operate the industrial vehicle. Moreover, the controller controls the industrial vehicle operating state by controlling the industrial vehicle based upon a location of the operator badge relative to the industrial vehicle.

ANTI-DISTRACTED DRIVER SYSTEM

An anti-distracted driver system comprises an interrupt device and a client device detector. The system may be installed in a vehicle. The client device detector may be installed in, for example, the glove box and may detect whether a client device (e.g., smart phone) is present (also in the glove box). If a client device is detected, an identifier (ID) is extracted from the client device and compared to a set of valid client device IDs provided by an administrator. If no match is found or no client device is detected, a relay is, or remains, disengaged thereby electrically disconnecting the starter control (e.g., ignition switch) from a solenoid of the starter motor thereby preventing the vehicle's engine from being started. Thus, the engine cannot be started unless the vehicle operator places his or her phone in the glove box of the vehicle (or wherever the client device detector is otherwise located).

VEHICLE SAFETY ALERT SYSTEM
20210383670 · 2021-12-09 ·

A system for indicating occupant presence within a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a driver's seat that has a plurality of sensors, a passenger's seat that has a plurality of sensors, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is operatively associated with and in communication with the sensors. The electronic control unit initiates an alert in the form of, for example, a car alarm and/or message and is capable of performing other safety actions based upon predetermined conditions being met that are based on information received from the sensors in the driver's seat and the passenger's seat.

Adjusting control of an industrial vehicle based on an electronic badge

A system for adjusting control of an industrial vehicle comprises a badge communicator that communicates with electronic badges that are in short range proximity of the industrial vehicle; and a controller coupled to memory, wherein the controller executes program code stored in the memory to adjust control of operating parameters of the industrial vehicle. The controller executes the program code to receive a badge identifier wirelessly transmitted by a detected electronic badge and identify a role associated with the badge identifier. Based on the role associated with the badge identifier, the controller modifies a set point of the industrial vehicle from a first set point to a second set point by communicating information concerning the set point to a vehicle control module of the electronic vehicle.

An ignition control apparatus (10) for controlling ignition of a vehicle (270) equipped with a vehicle unit (1) comprising a display (3) and at least one port (5, 5′) adapted to receive a user data device (7, 7′), wherein the ignition control apparatus (10) is adapted to be connected to the vehicle unit (1) and to an ignition circuit (20) of the vehicle (270), wherein the ignition control apparatus (10) comprises means (11) for activating and deactivating the ignition circuit (20), depending on insertion of a user data device (7, 7′) into the port (5, 5′) and/or reception of an override signal (O). Further, a corresponding method, system and use thereof to control ignition of a vehicle (270) is disclosed.

Position-based access verification method

An access system for an object with a transmission unit arranged in the object and a transponder unit arranged in a portable device. The transmission unit emits request signals at regular intervals. The transponder unit, in response to a triggering event, stores a current position of the object and determines its own position at regular intervals. The transponder unit deactivates the transmission unit when the transponder unit detects, based on the determined position, that the transponder unit has left a first zone, wherein the first zone is arranged around the object, and wherein the transmission unit does not emit any request signals while the transmission unit is deactivated. The transponder unit furthermore activates the transmission unit when the transponder unit detects, based on the determined position, that the transponder unit has entered an adjusted first zone, wherein the adjusted first zone is arranged around the object.
