An embodiment of an electronic access control system includes an electronic key, an electronic lock, and an access control administration program. The electronic key can include program code for switching between a lock mode and a computer mode. In some embodiments, the lock mode and computer mode allow for simplified administration and operation of the access control system. Some embodiments of the electronic key include a rechargeable battery. In some embodiments, the access control system includes a hybrid power supply system having a rechargeable battery and a generator. In some embodiments, the electronic lock includes a piezoelectric latch. In some embodiments, the electronic key is configured to act as a storage device for a computer system. A lockset that includes a latch assembly, an interior assembly and an exterior assembly. The latch assembly includes a bolt movable between an extended position and a retracted position. The interior assembly is configured to electronically control movement of the bolt between the extended position and the retracted position. The exterior assembly includes a locking assembly configured to be mechanically coupled with the latch assembly. The interior assembly includes an interior wireless communication unit and the exterior assembly includes an exterior wireless communication unit that is configured to wirelessly communicate therebetween. In some embodiments, an exterior assembly includes a photovoltaic cell and the interior assembly includes a light source. The light source and the solar cell are configured for wirelessly communicating and for power transmission between the exterior and interior assemblies through a bore hole in the door.

A method and system for providing access to a location secured by an electronically activated locking mechanism, the method comprising: detecting a geographical position of a mobile device. Determining that the detected geographical position of the mobile device is proximate to the location secured by the electronically activated locking mechanism. Systems and methods for location-aware scanning of an IoT beacon by a mobile device, and the authentication of the mobile device, are disclosed herein. The system detects when the mobile device is within a geofenced region associated with the IoT beacon and enables the scanning by the mobile device for signals from the beacon. Using the beacon signals received by the mobile device, the system detects when the mobile device and IoT beacon are sufficiently near one another. Once the mobile device and IoT beacon are sufficiently near each other, the system authenticates control of the mobile device over the IoT beacon by verifying an authentication key transmitted to a server.

A first magnetic field sensing device is positioned at the retracted position of the pin when the pin is in the retracted position to enable the sliding panel to transition from the closed position. The first magnetic field sensing device detects a magnetic field generated by a first magnetic field generating device positioned on the pin. The first magnetic field sensing device positioned at the retracted position of the pin is aligned with the first magnetic field generating device positioned on the pin when the pin is in the retracted position.

Removable door lock

A removeable door lock device for temporary installation to a door for additional security is disclosed herein. The removeable door lock device includes shock pads, two sets of metal rods, and a metal base. A first of the shock pads is placed on a back side of a door for leverage and support and a second of the shock pad is configured on the opposite wall for leverage and support. The door lock device is easily mounted on to an existing door without having to alter the existing door. Additionally, the door lock may be configured to be locked and unlocked through the mobile device of a user.
