The controller is configured to identify a location of the remote control device based on the communication and transmit a warning message to the user terminal when an obstruction is identified between the identified location of the remote control device and a location of the vehicle, based on processing the surrounding information.

Disclosed is an Ethernet-based vehicle control system and method. The Ethernet-based vehicle control system (method) according to the present invention comprises: a router for connecting a vehicle internal network and a vehicle external network; a vehicle electronic element connected to and communicating with the router; and a third-party module newly mounted on a vehicle to control the vehicle electronic element, wherein the vehicle electronic element includes a Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module, and the third-party module may piggyback on a signal input into the RKE module by a remote controller through the vehicle external network. According to the present invention, since a third-party module can be freely installed and replaced based on Ethernet, various services related to a vehicle may be realized through a vehicle external network.

The passive remote keyless entry system comprises a base station located at the vehicle and a mobile device, in particular a remote key, wherein the base station comprises a first processor unit and a first transceiver unit, the first transceiver unit comprises a timing device, the mobile device comprises a second processor unit and a second transceiver unit, an air travel time T of a single message sent back and forth from the base station to the mobile device is measured, and access to the vehicle is granted depending on the measured air travel time T.
ANTI-DISTRACTED DRIVER SYSTEM
An anti-distracted driver system comprises an interrupt device and a client device detector. The system may be installed in a vehicle. The client device detector may be installed in, for example, the glove box and may detect whether a client device (e.g., smart phone) is present (also in the glove box). If a client device is detected, an identifier (ID) is extracted from the client device and compared to a set of valid client device IDs provided by an administrator. If no match is found or no client device is detected, a relay is, or remains, disengaged thereby electrically disconnecting the starter control (e.g., ignition switch) from a solenoid of the starter motor thereby preventing the vehicle's engine from being started. Thus, the engine cannot be started unless the vehicle operator places his or her phone in the glove box of the vehicle (or wherever the client device detector is otherwise located).

The system includes accessory lock actuator(s) operably coupled to the accessory lock(s), accessory lock controller(s) operably coupled to the accessory lock actuator(s), and a gateway controller operably coupled to the vehicle controller. Gateway controller second determines an accessory lock actuation command based on the first actuation command signal, and second transmits, based on the accessory lock actuation command, a gateway signal to the accessory lock controller.
