Processing alarm signals
Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for processing alarm signals are presented. In some embodiments, a mobile device may be registered with a security system that is installed at a premises. Subsequently, an alarm trigger associated with the security system may be received. Based on receiving the alarm trigger, the location of the mobile device may be determined. A response to the alarm trigger then may be determined based on the location of the mobile device.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EMERGENCY ALERT AND CALL REGARDING DRIVER CONDITION
A method includes measuring biometric data of a user at a monitoring device. The method further includes outputting, at the monitoring device, an alert to a vehicle computing device within a vehicle based upon detection of a biometric event, such that the party outside of a vehicle is notified. The method also includes analyzing and storing, within an application residing on the monitoring device, the biometric data within the application. The method still further includes outputting, within the application, a predetermined timeframe of the biometric data to the party.
Device, method and computer program for acoustic monitoring of a monitoring area
A device for acoustic monitoring of a monitoring area includes first and second sensor systems which have first and second acoustic sensors, processors, and transmitter, respectively, and which may be mounted at different locations of the monitoring area. The first and second processors may be configured to classify first and second audio signals detected by the first and second acoustic sensors so as to obtain first and second classification results, respectively. The first and second transmitter may be configured to transmit the first and second classification results to a central evaluator, respectively. In addition, the device may include the central evaluator, which may be configured to receive the first classification result and to receive the second classification result, and to generate a monitoring output for the monitoring area as a function of the first classification result and the second classification result.
Gunshot detection device, system and method
A system, device and method facilitate accurate detection of gunshot events through spectrum analysis of impulse signals and/or evaluating impulse signal exponential decay amplitude and time values. In various embodiments, the device and system employ an acoustic sensor, one or more high-pass and low-pass filters, a threshold detector, a differentiator, a decay waveform shape generator, one or more comparators and one or more timers to facilitate detection of gunshot events and/or components of gunshot events.
SECURITY APPARATUS AND METHOD
A security method and apparatus is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for providing an alarm for a window by a security apparatus comprises calculating a first distance between a detector mounted within a movable portion of the window and a window frame edge and calculating a second distance between the detector and the window frame edge. The method further comprises determining whether the movable portion of the window has remained stationary for more than a predetermined time period based on the first distance and the second distance and, if the movable portion has remained stationary for more than the predetermined time period, storing the second distance in a memory, placing the security apparatus into an active alarm state, calculating a third distance observed by the detector, determining a change between the third distance and the second distance, determining whether the change exceeds a predetermined distance, and generating an alarm signal if the change exceeds the predetermined distance.
REDUCED FALSE ALARM SECURITY SYSTEM
Embodiments of a central security monitoring device for reducing incidences of false alarms in a security system is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is described, comprising receiving an alarm signal from an occupancy sensor via a receiver, receiving a second alarm signal from a barrier alarm device after receiving the alarm signal, determining, by a processor, an elapsed time from when the alarm signal from the occupancy sensor was received to when the second alarm signal from the barrier alarm device was received, transmitting, by the processor via a network interface, a message to a personal communication device indicating that a false alarm has occurred when the elapsed time is less than the predetermined time.
Security apparatus and method
A method and apparatus for monitoring a door or a window is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method is described, comprising receiving, by a processor, an electronic signal from a motion sensor in response to movement of the door or window, determining a direction of movement of the door or window from the electronic signal by the processor, comparing the direction of movement to a predetermined direction by the processor, detecting, by the processor, an alarm condition of the door or window if the electronic signal indicates that the door or window is being opened, and transmitting, by a transmitter coupled to the processor, an alarm signal when the alarm condition has been detected.
REDUCTION OF FALSE DETECTIONS IN A PROPERTY MONITORING SYSTEM USING ULTRASOUND EMITTER
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for reduction of false detections using an ultrasound emitter. One of the methods includes obtaining sensor data captured by a sensor of a property monitoring system; detecting an object represented by the sensor data; determining that the object represented by the sensor data is likely a non-object of interest and being detected as an object of interest; and in response to determining that the object represented by the sensor data is likely the non-object of interest and being detected as the object of interest, sending, to an ultrasound emitter, a command to cause the ultrasound emitter to emit ultrasonic sound around the sensor.
MOTION DETECTION
Motion detectors can include a housing defining a first cavity and an aperture extending through the housing. A circuit board can be disposed in the first cavity. An infrared sensor and a light sensor can be mounted on the circuit board. A lens can extend across the aperture. A wall can extend between the lens and the circuit board such that the wall, the lens, and the circuit board define a second cavity at least partially within the first cavity and the second cavity contains the infrared sensor and the light sensor.
