Keyboard training method and apparatus
A method of teaching keyboard instruments involves placing semi-permanent plates on specific keys of the keyboard, providing tactile stimulation which will develop muscle memory and confidence in playing correct notes. Different textures and colors may be employed to help differentiate plates and associated keys from others. Placement of plates on keys is to be determined by the instructor in consideration of the student's needs. Placement may be made on one or multiple keys, which may include an entire middle octave. Texturing may be a subtle as Braille characters or more bold designs and individual shapes of the plates may be flat or may be shaped to facilitate hand posture. Colors may be associated with specific notes on the grand staff to provide a visual aid. Finger adornments may also be used to aid in color correspondence. Plates may be held onto piano keys by utilizing either wet or dry adhesives.
Box String Instrument Simulator
A simulated musical string instrument formed of plural shaped sheets of rigid material, such as cardboard. There is a top sheet forming a top surface of the simulated string instrument body, and a bottom sheet forming a bottom surface, and multiple sheets between. A simulated fingerboard is attached to the top surface. The top sheet and fingerboard gets stickers that show parts of the simulated string instrument body including openings and notes. There is also a simulated bow guide and a simulated bow.
Performance Improvement with the DAMONN Music Notation System
System, methods and devices are developed for the improvement in the dynamic performance of music players in relation to the musical instruments with the DAMONN music notation system. The DAMONN music notation system creates a simple and efficient environment revolving around alphanumericals on the music staves to enable people of all ages of any race to learn a sheet music of any musical instrument easily. The system, methods and devices of the DAMONN music notation system had been adapted for keyboard, string, brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments for ease of reading, writing, teaching and learning music intuitively.
Musical chord conversion aid device
The present invention relates to a music chords conversion device. The device is used for providing instant representation showing conversion or correlation of major chords to minor chords and vice versa. The device can come in two variants (1) a physical device (2) a digital device. The physical device has a chords conversion component and a minor chords component wherein the minor chords component is configured to slide into the chords conversion component through a cut-out opening. The minor chords can be correlated to the major chords and displayed in a viewing region of the chords conversion component. The digital device includes a memory for storing the chords conversion and also includes a digital display for displaying the converted minor and major chords.
System and method for teaching piano and note reading
A system and method for teaching children in the field of music, and more particularly to teach children to play the piano and read musical notes using physical objects with images of characters assigned to fingers and animals assigned to musical notes, with assigned colors and shapes, and all incorporated within themed environments presented in continuing stories.
Method for learning music scale theory
A method for learning music scale theory includes utilizing a music theory-based card game. A plurality of cards forms a deck, each card representing a predetermined music note according to a 7-note system. One or more players are dealt cards to make a hand. Players draw cards from a draw deck or a discard pile, and discard cards to the discard pile, until a player creates a sequence of cards in the player's hand that corresponds to a complete musical scale or mode.
Systems and methods for aiding music theory comprehension
The invention provides a device for music theory comprehension. The device includes a base portion and a first stencil. The base portion includes a plurality of marks. Each mark includes indicia representing a musical note. The first stencil includes a first interior shape, wherein the first stencil and the base portion are selectively positionable relative to each other. At each of a plurality of predetermined positions determined by the plurality of marks, the first interior shape of the first stencil surrounds multiple marks. The multiple marks include indicia representing seven musical notes representing a unique chord family.
SYSTEM FOR VISUALLY REPRESENTING MUSICAL TIMING
A system for visually representing musical timing includes a time signature spacer tile associated with a particular time signature and comprising a physical length based on the particular time signature. The system also includes one or more note tiles that have physical note tile lengths that correspond to different types of musical notes with different temporal note durations. The system also includes a tray that has a horizontal length. The tray is configured to receive the time signature spacer tile and a sequence of one or more note tiles of the plurality of note tiles. A combination of the time signature spacer tile and the sequence of note tiles substantially fills the horizontal length of the tray. A combined physical length of the sequence of note tiles corresponds to a combined temporal note duration that corresponds to a measure associated with the particular time signature.

Performance improvement with the DAMONN music notation system
The DAMONN music notation system creates a simple alphanumericals on the music staves for ease of reading, writing, teaching and learning music. The system, methods and teaching aids of the DAMONN music notation system had been adapted for all musical instruments in the family categories of keyboard, string, brass and woodwind, and percussion instruments.
