DISPLACEMENT SENSOR AND ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
A displacement sensor includes: a detectable portion: including a first coil; and being disposed on a movable member that is displaceable in response to an operation; and a signal generator: including a second coil that opposes the first coil; and being configured to generate a detection signal based on a relative position between the first coil and the second coil. A first distance from a first end of the first coil to a second end of the first coil in a first direction differs from a second distance from a third end of the first coil to a fourth end of the first coil in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction when the first coil is viewed in plan view.
System for Identification of a Note Played by a Musical Instrument
A system and method is disclosed for identification of a musical note played by a musical wind instrument with a resonant chamber having a plurality of configurations selectable by a player of the musical wind instrument and an electrically conductive surface in the resonant chamber. The system and method include a stimulation signal generator for generating a stimulation signal and antenna means mountable on the musical instrument for broadcasting the stimulation signal as an electromagnetic signal within the resonant chamber and for receiving a reflected electromagnetic signal from the resonant chamber The system and method also include an electronic processing unit for processing the reflected electromagnetic signal and determining therefrom a configuration of the resonant chamber selected by the player and indicative of a musical note that is or would be output by the instrument when played at the time of the received reflected signal.
Gesture-controlled virtual reality systems and methods of controlling the same
Gesture-controlled virtual reality systems and methods of controlling the same are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes an on-body sensor to output first signals associated with at least one of movement of a body part of a user or a position of the body part relative to a virtual object and an off-body sensor to output second signals associated with at least one of the movement or the position relative to the virtual object. The apparatus also includes at least one processor to generate gesture data based on at least one of the first or second signals, generate position data based on at least one of the first or second signals, determine an intended action of the user relative to the virtual object based on the position data and the gesture data, and generate an output of the virtual object in response to the intended action.
Electronic drums
An electronic drum, comprising: a bottom member; a drum head; a drum sensor comprising: a passive resonant circuit mounted on the drum head and having a resonant frequency; and an active resonant circuit mounted on the bottom member and configured to excite the passive resonant circuit at the resonant frequency; a sensor driver to drive the active resonant circuit with an RF drive signal at the resonant frequency; and a detector to detect a level of RF signal from the driven active resonant circuit for sensing a position and/or velocity of the drum head; and a signal processor, coupled to the detector, configured to process the detected level of RF signal to sense a position and/or velocity of the drum head for determining when the drum head is hit.
Computer input devices
A sensing system for a computer input device. The sensing system comprises an actuator to attach to a key top or button. The actuator is moveable along an axis or hinged. The sensing system further comprises a biasing element to exert a biasing force on the actuator directed along the axis. The sensing system further comprises an actuator motion sensor associated with the actuator. The actuator motion sensor comprises a passive resonant circuit configured to be moved by the actuator and having a resonant frequency, an active resonant circuit configured to excite the passive resonant circuit at the resonant frequency, a sensor driver to drive the active resonant circuit with an RF drive signal at the resonant frequency, and a detector to detect a level of RF signal from a driven actuator motion sensor for sensing a position and/or velocity of the actuator.
INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
An electronic musical instrument includes a communication unit and a processing unit. The communication unit is capable of performing short-range wireless communication with a terminal. In a case where the terminal performs an operation according to an operation pattern including an operation of repeating, in a predetermined pattern, at least one of transmission of a reading request of data and transmission of writing target data and a writing request for the writing target data while the electronic musical instrument and the terminal are in a state in which the short-range wireless communication is possible, the processing unit performs a process of transmitting corresponding data when the reading request is received using the communication unit, and performs a process of writing the writing target data when the writing target data and the writing request for the writing target data are received via the communication unit.
Music mash up collectable card game
An intuitive music composition game platform with various modes of operation in a single reader system and a music mash up collectable card game and method using cards with tags and unique identifications. A single reading platform includes a cover for card storage and for supporting a smart device platform for reading many Near Field communication (NFC) embedded cards, with stacking features and colored light indicated input lanes selection for user identification and selection. Various game modes include individual, studio mix, party modes game play features in music mash up collectable card games, which may be used together with or independent of accessory devices as controllers, or smart device user interfaces with Bluetooth™ or Wi-Fi for communicating user selection and operation.
Method and system for composing music with chord accompaniment
The present invention provides method and system for composing music with chord accompaniment. One or more keys on a first keyboard are selected by end-users to generate a chord progression, and a computer generates a chord progression MIDI file, and associates the file with a first physical card that is embedded with a unique machine-readable ID (UID). After the UID of the first physical card is subsequently recognized, the chord progression MIDI file is retrieved and played. While the chord progression MIDI file is played, certain keys on a second keyboard are highlighted, and each of the highlighted keys on a second keyboard represents a music note that is in harmony with a particular chord in the chord progression while the particular chord is being played, and one or more of the highlighted keys on the second keyboard are selected by the end-user to compose a melody.
