MULTIMEDIA PLAYER DISPLAYING OPERATION PANEL DEPENDING ON CONTENTS
A digital content operating apparatus, including: a communication unit which communicates with an external device which has a display for displaying the digital content; a user operation interface which receives a user operation to control the digital content which is displayed on the external device; a display which displays either a linear content operation panel or an interactive content operation panel; and a controller which controls the user operation interface corresponding to information on the digital content which is displayed on the external device; wherein either the linear content operation panel or the interactive content operation panel is displayed alternatively as the user operation interface on the display.
VIDEO CONTENT CREATION TOOL AND METHOD
A content-creation tool includes a processor and a memory. The processor is configured to receive a first video clip and a second video clip, a respective first and second metadata-item thereof being set to a respective first and second metadata-value. The memory stores video-editing software that includes a timeline interface and instructions that, when executed by the processor, control the processor to: add the first video clip to the timeline interface as a first timeline-track that retains the first metadata-value; add the second video clip to the timeline interface as a second timeline-track that retains the second metadata-value; and generate a frame sequence that includes a plurality of video frames. Each video frame is a frame of, or a frame derived from, one of (i) the first timeline-track, (ii) the second timeline-track, and (iii) a composited time-line-track composited from at least one of the first and second timeline-tracks.
Recording apparatus, recording method, reproduction apparatus, reproduction method, recording medium, encoding apparatus, and decoding apparatus
There is provided a recording apparatus, a recording method, a reproduction apparatus, a reproduction method, a recording medium, an encoding apparatus, and a decoding apparatus which enable recording or reproduction to be easily implemented at high line density. User data is encoded into a multilevel edge code, and a multilevel code whose value changes in accordance with the multilevel edge code is recorded. The multilevel edge code is generated through state transition of a code generation model which includes a state representing the number of times that zero is consecutive corresponding to a number of ways of the number of times that zero is consecutive, which is the number of times that an edge of 0 is consecutive among edges representing a change amount from an immediately preceding value of the multilevel code of an ML value which is equal to or greater than 3, and which transitions to a state representing the number of times that zero is consecutive including 0 in a case where 0 is output, and transitions to a state representing that the number of times that zero is consecutive is 0 times in a case where one of 1 to ML−1 is output.
Movie advertising playback systems and methods
An ad in a movie can be a static ad having a position in the movie that cannot be moved, or a dynamic ad having a position in the movie that can be changed. When a viewer wishes to skip a portion of the movie containing the ad, the playback system determines whether the ad is static or dynamic. If the ad is static, only the portion of the movie preceding the static ad can be skipped; the ad is unskippable. This technique is referred to as “bounceback” since the end of the skip bounces back to the start of the static ad. If the ad is dynamic, it is moved to after the end of the skip. This technique is referred to as “slip-ad” since the ad slips to later in the movie. When a movie has multiple ads, some can be static and some can be dynamic.
Multimedia Distribution System
A multimedia file and methods of generating, distributing and using the multimedia file are described. Multimedia files in accordance with embodiments of the present invention can contain multiple video tracks, multiple audio tracks, multiple subtitle tracks, a complete index that can be used to locate each data chunk in each of these tracks and an abridged index that can enable the location of a subset of the data chunks in each track, data that can be used to generate a menu interface to access the contents of the file and ‘meta data’ concerning the contents of the file. Multimedia files in accordance with several embodiments of the present invention also include references to video tracks, audio tracks, subtitle tracks and ‘meta data’ external to the file. One embodiment of a multimedia file in accordance with the present invention includes a series of encoded video frames, a first index that includes information indicative of the location within the file and characteristics of each encoded video frame and a separate second index that includes information indicative of the location within the file of a subset of the encoded video frames.
Cartridge including tape-shaped magnetic recording medium
A cartridge is provided and includes tape-shaped magnetic recording medium; and cartridge memory; wherein cartridge memory includes communication unit that communicates with recording/reproducing device in state where cartridge is loaded on recording/reproducing device; storage unit; and control unit that stores, reads, and transmits information, wherein information includes manufacturing information of cartridge and adjustment information for adjusting a tension applied to the tape-shaped magnetic recording medium in a longitudinal direction of tape-shaped magnetic recording medium thereof, tape-shaped magnetic recording medium has a plurality of servo bands, and wherein a temperature expansion coefficient α of the tape-shaped magnetic recording medium satisfies 6 ppm/° C.≤α≤8 ppm/° C.
Systems and methods for correcting media capture-times
Media items captured by a media capture device may include and/or be associated with values of a clock-change identifier. The values of the clock-change identifier may be set based on when and how many times the time of the media capture device was changed. Based on a capture-time of a media item being incorrect, other media items with the same value of the clock-change identifier may be determined to be incorrect. Capture-times of the other media items may be corrected based on capture-time correction of the media item.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVISION OF ENHANCED MULTIMEDIA CONTENT
Ways to generate, store, and distribute optimized content are described. Content modification operations including color correction are stored as metadata that is embedded in each content item. The metadata is extracted in order to eliminate or update the modification operations. Modification operations are updated based at least partly on profiles associated with one or more content provision elements. The profiles include device profiles and codec profiles. Each profile may be specific to a particular element or be a generic profile associated with multiple elements. The profiles are generated based on evaluation of the devices and codes and are stored as entries in a look up table. When content is provided, the profiles are used to optimize the content for display.
