A spring operation device includes a closing shaft rotating to apply closing driving force to a movable contactor of a circuit breaker; a breaking shaft connected to the closing shaft in an axial direction and rotating to apply breaking driving force to the movable contactor of a circuit breaker; a plurality of springs having one ends connected to the closing shaft and the breaking shaft and the other ends fixed in position and provided along circumferences of the closing shaft and the breaking shaft in order to transmit elastic restoring force to the closing shaft and the breaking shaft to rotate the closing shaft and the breaking shaft; and a power transmission unit connecting the closing shaft and the breaking shaft when a closing operation is performed and releasing a connection between the closing shaft and the breaking shaft when a breaking operation is performed.

A vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) assembly includes a single motor configured to rotate at least one rotor, a VCB having a breaking mechanism configured to control current flow through the VCB and a first electromagnetic clutch configured to selectively engage the at least one rotor with the breaking mechanism to charge the breaking mechanism. The VCB assembly also includes an undercarriage configured to support the VCB assembly and to move the VCB assembly from a first position to a second position and a second electromagnetic clutch configured to selectively engage the at least one rotor with the undercarriage to drive the undercarriage.

CONTROL MECHANISM FOR A CURRENT SWITCHING DEVICE

A mechanism for controlling a current switching device. The mechanism includes: an arming lever; an arming disc secured to an arming shaft, movable between a first position and a second position; and a loading pawl which can pivot between a position in which the arming lever drives the arming disc via the loading pawl and a position in which the arming lever is free, rotation of the arming lever causing the arming disc to go from the first position to the second position whilst constraining an elastic member. The mechanism further includes: an end stop for retaining the arming disc; a closing lever configured to trigger closing of the current switching device; and an elastic member configured to move the loading pawl from the position in which the arming lever drives the arming disc to the position in which the arming lever is free when the arming disc is retained by the end stop whilst driving the closing lever so as to close the current switching device.

HIGH ENERGY SPRING DRIVE

A high energy spring drive to control a high voltage circuit breaker is described. The high energy spring drive includes a closing assembly positioned at a first end and an opening assembly positioned at a second end, a charging assembly positioned between the closing and opening assembly, and a transmission assembly. The closing and opening assembly control the closing and opening of circuit breaker. The charging assembly includes a worm wheel arrangement coupled to a motor to transfer torque to a motor shaft, to energize the closing assembly, a decoupling mechanism to decouple the worm wheel arrangement from the motor shaft on energization of the closing assembly, and a cam-follower mechanism. The transmission assembly actuated by the follower of the cam-follower mechanism is to electrically close a circuit breaker when the follower rotates in a first direction and electrically open the circuit breaker when the follower rotates a second direction.
