A high voltage air disconnect switch having an electrical load interrupter unit responsive to the opening of the high voltage air break disconnect switch. The electrical load interrupter unit including an actuating arm is contacted, during the opening of the switch, by a moving arc horn attached to and in electrical circuit with a switch blade of the high voltage air disconnect switch. The moving arc horn has operatively attached a spring catch which engages the actuating arm with a physical holding force applied to an electric contact point between the actuating arm and the moving arc horn to firmly capture the interrupter actuating arm against the moving arc horn during opening of the switch to prevent any arc burning damage due to arcing between the actuating arm and the moving arc horn as the switch opens.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A SWITCHING APPARATUS FOR ELECTRIC SYSTEMS

The present disclosure is directed to a for manufacturing a switching apparatus for electric systems. The method includes (i) providing a first housing shell of the switching apparatus; (ii) providing a second housing shell of the switching apparatus; (iii) assembling the first and second housing shells and a number of operating components of the switching apparatus, thereby obtaining a preliminary assembly of the switching apparatus; and (iv) joining first and second coupling edges of the first and second housing shells through a vibration welding process, thereby forming a junction between the first and second housing shells and obtaining a sealed outer casing for the switching apparatus.

Switch having a position indicator

A switch for medium voltage applications is provided. The switch comprises a vacuum interrupter having a fixed contact, a movable contact movable in a first direction to and away from the fixed contact between a closed position and an open position, and a drive rod arranged to the movable contact for moving the contact between the closed position and the open position. The switch further comprises a changeover switch having a first terminal body, a second terminal body, an elongated pole body, and an operating rod. The elongate pole body is hinged with a first end to the first terminal body and rotatable between a connected position in which the second end of the pole body is in direct electrical contact with the second terminal body and a disconnected position in which the second end is disconnected from the second terminal body.

Intelligent automatic transfer switch module

An automatic transfer switch (100) for automatically switching an electrical load between two power sources is provided. Two power cords (106) enter the ATS (A power and B power inputs) and one cord (109) exits the ATS (power out to the load). The ATS has indicators (107) located beneath a clear crenelated plastic lens (108) that also acts as the air inlets. The ATS (100) also has a communication portal (103) and a small push-button (104) used for inputting some local control commands directly to the ATS (100). The ATS (100) can be mounted on a DIN rail at a rack and avoids occupying rack shelves.

This disclosure relates generally to power isolation switch devices. In one embodiment, a power isolation switch device has a power insulator, an arc breaker, and a switch. The power insulator and the switch are connected in parallel. The arc contact is operably associated with the switch such that the arc contact is removed from the arc chute as the switch is opened and is inserted to contact the arc chute when the switch is closed. In this manner, the power isolation switch device does not need an interrupter and can be provided so as to be less bulky.
