SIGNAL TRANSMISSION LINE
A signal transmission line includes a signal region that includes a signal conductor layer and insulating base material layers, and a first ground region that includes a first ground conductor layer and insulating base material layers and is located above the signal region. The signal region is not fixed to the first ground region in a first section of a base. One or more first spacers are fixed to the signal region and in contact with the first ground region without being fixed thereto, or are in contact with the signal region without being fixed thereto and fixed to the first ground region. The one or more first spacers are in the first section.
Redirecting device for mm-waves, connection assembly
A redirecting device for mm-waves includes an input section, an output section disposed at 90 degrees to the input section, and a waveguide member extending from the input section to the output section. The waveguide member is a rigid dielectric material.
Ridge gap waveguide crossover structure including intersecting transmission lines with impedance transformers disposed between upper and bottom planar metal plates and having a gap therein
A ridge gap waveguide millimeter-wave crossover bridge structure device includes: an upper planar metal plate and a bottom planar metal plate arranged in parallel; a supporting structure fixedly arranged between the two planar metal plates; a ridge waveguide fixed on the upper surface of the bottom planar metal plate, with an air gap between the upper planar metal plate and the ridge waveguide; and a plurality of metal pins fixed on the upper surface of the bottom planar metal plate and evenly arranged around the ridge waveguide. The ridge waveguide includes two transmission lines arranged crosswise and four impedance transformation structures respectively connected to the ends of the two transmission lines. The distal end of each of the impedance transformation structures away from the connected transmission line is used to connect with external test equipment to be accommodated in four input ports in the bottom planar metal plate.
Transition between a waveguide and a substrate integrated waveguide, where the transition includes a main body formed by symmetrical halves
A broadband transition coupling for transition between a waveguide and a printed circuit board with a substrate integrated waveguide is disclosed. The broadband transition coupling comprises a main body that encompasses an air-filled waveguide section and a transition section. The air-filled waveguide section comprises a first interface for the waveguide. The transition section provides a second interface for the printed circuit board. The transition section continuously tapers along the second interface in order to reduce a height of the transition section for transition coupling with the printed circuit board. Further, the present disclosure relates to a broadband system for processing electromagnetic signals.
Gap waveguide structures for THz applications
A microwave/millimeter device having a narrow gap between two parallel surfaces of conducting material by using a texture or multilayer structure on one of the surfaces is disclosed. The fields are mainly present inside the gap, and not in the texture or layer structure itself, so the losses are small. The microwave/millimeter wave device further includes one or more conducting elements, such as a metallized ridge or a groove in one of the two surfaces, or a metal strip located in a multilayer structure between the two surfaces. The waves propagate along the conducting elements. At least one of the surfaces is provided with means to prohibit the waves from propagating in other directions between them than along the ridge, groove or strip. At very high frequency, the gap waveguides and gap lines may be realized inside an IC package or inside the chip itself.
Printed wiring board
To suppress occurrence of a difference in transmission time due to a difference in length between signal lines, there is provided a printed wiring board having: an insulating substrate (10); a first signal line (L31) formed on the insulating substrate (10); a second signal line (L32) having a shorter length than that of the first signal line (L31); and a ground layer (30) formed for the first signal line (L31) and the second signal line (L31) via an insulating material (10). The ground layer (30) includes a first ground layer (G31) corresponding to a first region (D1) and a second ground layer (G32) corresponding to a second region (D2). The first region (D1) is defined based on the first signal line (L31) and has a first predetermined width (W31). The second region (D2) is defined based on the second signal line (L32) and has a second predetermined width (W32). The first ground layer (G31) has a remaining ratio lower than a remaining ratio of the second ground layer (G32).
Twist for connecting orthogonal waveguides in a single housing structure
A twist for coupling radiation between orthogonal waveguides is provided. The twist includes at least three cavities opening from at least one of a first X1-Y1 surface and a second X2-Y2 surface of a metal block. A first cavity has a first opening in a first Y-Z plane and a second opening in a second Y-Z plane offset from the first Y-Z plane by a first length. A second cavity shares the second opening with the first cavity and has a third opening in a third Y-Z plane offset from the second Y-Z plane by a second length and has at least two heights and at least two widths. A last cavity shares a next-to-last opening in a next-to-last Y-Z plane with a next-to-last cavity. The last cavity has a last opening in a last Y-Z plane offset from the next-to-last Y-Z plane by a last length.
