CONNECTOR

A connector including an insulating housing, a plurality of terminals arrayed and held on the housing, and a conductive shell, wherein the housing is positioned within the shell in island form. The shell is formed of a single metal plate, and includes a peripheral wall surrounding the housing, bottom plates extending from lower ends of the peripheral wall on a side of mounting to the board to inside of the peripheral wall, and a pair of supporting pieces extending from the bottom plates and supporting the housing. The pair of supporting pieces are formed by being raised from the bottom plates so as to respectively conform to side surfaces of the housing that are opposite each other, and then being folded with their tips press-fit in the housing. The peripheral wall is of a single-ply structure of the metal plate without a seam throughout a periphery thereof.

An electrical connector and a manufacturing method for the same. The electrical connector comprises a housing member and a plugging module. One end of the housing member is provided with a mating interface. An accommodating space communicating with the mating interface is provided in the housing member. The plugging module comprises a first circuit board, a plurality of electrical conductors and a plurality of first soldering pads. The first circuit board is disposed in the accommodating space. The first circuit board comprises a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The plurality of electrical conductors are disposed on the first surface and/or the second surface and is close to the mating interface. The plurality of first soldering pads are disposed on the second surface and are electrically connected with the plurality of electrical conductors.

HIGH SPEED ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR

A connector for use with high-speed signals. The connector may include a row of conductive elements comprising signal conductors and ground conductors. A signal conductor may include a mating end, a mounting end opposite the mating end, and an intermediate portion extending therebetween. A ground conductor may include a shell at least partially encircling intermediate portions of a group of signal conductors, with openings that expose contact surfaces of the signal conductors at the ends. The ground conductors may include contact members aligned with the mating contact surfaces of the signal conductors. Each shell may be coupled to a ground mounting location on each side of a respective group of signal conductors, with adjacent shells sharing a ground mounting location. Such a configuration may meet signal integrity requirements in connectors designed for 64 Gbps and beyond, while conforming to a standard that constrains mating and mounting interfaces.
