PCIE/SAS female electrical connector
A Peripheral Component Interconnect Express/Serial Attached SCSI (PSAS) female connector includes a frame member, a terminal member, and a cover member; the frame member including a terminal groove disposed in the frame member and a tilt portion disposed in the terminal groove adjacent to a plug end; the terminal member inserted in the frame member and including a Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) 7 pin terminal, a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 40 pin terminal, a 15 Pin signal terminal, a 6 Pin terminal, and a 4 Pin terminal. When the PSAS female connector is engaged with the male connector, the SATA 7 Pin terminal and the SAS 40 Pin terminal are pressed by a terminal of the male connector to be bent toward an outer lateral side of the terminal groove to contact the elastic plate of the cover member. The present invention effectively improves the cross interference during high speed transmission, thereby achieving the Generation 5 performance requirement.
Electrical connector and electrical connector assembly
An electrical connector and electrical connector assembly. The electrical connector comprises a connector and a securing member. The connector comprises a body and a connecting terminal port. The connecting terminal port is disposed at one side of the body. The securing member comprises a securing part and a clamping part. The securing part is assembled on the body and is disposed at one side of the connecting terminal port. The clamping direction of the clamping part is identical to the opening direction of the connecting terminal port. The circuit board is connected to the connecting terminal port, and the clamping part of the securing member is used to clamp and secure the circuit board. The securing member can be assembled according to the shape and structural configuration of the body of the connector through a component of the securing member corresponding to one side of the body of the connector.
CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY WITH HIGHER SPACE UTILIZATION
A connector assembly includes a card connector and a first backplane connector. The card connector includes a first terminal module, a second terminal module and a circuit board card. The circuit board card connects the first terminal module and the second terminal module to form a receiving cavity. The first backplane connector is received in the receiving cavity. The present disclosure can make full use of space to improve space utilization of the connector assembly.
CABLE BACKPLANE SYSTEM HAVING INDIVIDUALLY REMOVABLE CABLE CONNECTOR ASSEMBLIES
A cable backplane system includes cable backplanes each including a tray configured to be coupled to a chassis and a plurality of cable connector assemblies mounted to the tray. The tray has a plate extending between a front and a rear with mounting locations receiving corresponding cable connector assemblies. The trays are oriented parallel to each other with front openings between the fronts of the plates and rear openings between the rears of the plates. Each cable connector assembly has a housing holding contacts terminated to corresponding cables. Each cable connector assembly has a holder mounted to the corresponding mounting location of the plate. The holder is mounted to the plate and removable from the plate through the rear opening at the rear of the plate.
Surface mount electrical connector
A surface mount electrical connector and methods of making and using a surface mount electrical connector. The connector includes a housing and a contact subassembly received in the housing. The contact subassembly includes interface contacts, board termination contacts, and an internal circuit board. The interface contacts and the board termination contacts are mounted to the internal circuit board to electrically connect the interface contacts and the board termination contacts through the internal circuit board. Each of surface mount tail ends of the board termination contacts has a bent portion that defines a mounting surface configured to be surface mounted to a mounting face of a main circuit board, to establish an electrical connection between the board termination contacts and the main circuit board.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY
An electrical connector includes: an insulating housing having a front housing having a front top wall and a pair of front side walls and a rear housing cooperating with the front housing; and plural terminal modules accommodated in the insulating housing, each of the terminal modules including an insulating body and plural conductive terminals held in the insulating body, wherein the rear housing includes a rear top wall and a pair of rear side walls extending downward from the rear top wall, and the rear top wall and the pair of rear side walls surround the terminal module in three directions.
COMPACT ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
A receptacle connector includes a metal housing configured to prevent backwards insertion of a plug. The receptacle connector has walls bounding an assembly space with an insulative body therein. One wall is distant from an exterior surface of the insulative body to form an abutting groove between the metal housing and the insulative body. The abutting groove is configured to receive an abutting wall of the plug connector. The insulative body includes mating interface configured to receive a terminal portion of a plug connector. A wall of the metal housing opposite the abutting groove is adjacent a surface of the insulative body has a projection. If a user attempts to insert the plug with the terminal portion backwards, the projection interferes with the abutting wall, preventing backwards insertion of the terminal portion of the plug into the mating interface.
CONNECTING MULTI-CONDUCTOR CABLES WITH SURFACE CONTACTS
An electrical connector for connecting to an array of surface contacts includes a connector body and a plurality of cable terminators. The connector body defines an interior volume and includes an external surface defining a plurality of cable openings each configured to receive a respective multi-conductor cable therethrough and a plurality of passageways. The plurality of cable terminators are each configured to couple with a respective multi-conductor cable exiting the second section of a respective passageway. Each cable terminator includes a plurality of pins each configured to couple with a respective conductor of the multi-conductor cable and to extend to a respective contact surface. The contact surfaces of the plurality of cable terminators extend to a second plane. The first plane and the second plane are coplanar when the array is in the connection position.
METHOD OF ASSEMBLING AND EFFICIENT MANUFACTURE OF HIGH PERFORMANCE ELECTRONIC DEVICE WITH CABLED INTERCONNECTS
A subassembly for efficiently and reliably assembling a high performance electronic device. The electronic device may include numerous cabled interconnects in a subassembly that is subsequently mechanically and electrically connected to a PCB populated with high performance electronic components. First ends of cables in the cabled interconnects may be terminated by a first type of connector configured for connection to the PCB via a downward force. The second ends of the cables may be terminated with a second type of connectors that may make connections to other portions of an electronic system incorporating the electronic device. The connectors at the first ends of the cables may be releasably held within an organizer. The connectors may be simply mounted to the PCB by positioning the organizer with respect to the PCB, releasing the connectors from the organizer, and pushing the connectors into engagement with mounting locations on the PCB.
