Base member for light emitting device
A base member for a light emitting device includes a bottom part and a frame part. The frame part has an upper surface, a lower surface, and a step portion. The frame part has a bonding surface bonded to the bottom part, and defining a planar surface of the step portion at a lower surface side, first and second inner surfaces, a first planar surface defining a planar surface of the step portion at an upper surface side, and first and second electrode layers electrically connected to each other, the second electrode layer being disposed on the first planar surface while the first electrode layer being not disposed on the first planar surface. The step portion extends along an entire periphery of the frame part in a bottom view, and the step portion does not extend along the entire periphery of the frame part in a top view.

A semiconductor device includes: a package including: a lower surface, at least one first metal surface at an outer periphery of the lower surface, and at least one second metal surface at the lower surface at a location different from the at least one first metal surface; a mounting substrate disposed below the package and including: an upper surface, at least one first metal pattern disposed at the upper surface below the at least one first metal surface, and at least one second metal pattern disposed at the upper surface below the at least one second metal surface; a first bonding member containing a metal material and bonding the at least one first metal surface and the at least one first metal pattern; and a second bonding member containing a metal material and bonding the at least one second metal surface and the at least one second metal pattern.

A wiring base includes a base having a first surface, at least one metal layer positioned on the first surface, at least one lead terminal positioned on the metal layer, and a joining member that is positioned on the metal layer and joins the lead terminal to the metal layer. The lead terminal has a first portion to be in contact with the joining member and also has a second portion being continuous with the first portion. In a cross section of the lead terminal orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the lead terminal, the first portion has two concave surfaces that are formed near the metal layer so as to be disposed opposite to each other across a center in a transverse direction of the lead terminal.
WIRING BASE, PACKAGE FOR STORING SEMICONDUCTOR ELEMENT, AND SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE
A wiring base includes a base having a first surface, at least one metal layer positioned on the first surface, at least one lead terminal positioned on the metal layer, and a joining member that is positioned on the metal layer and joins the lead terminal to the metal layer. The lead terminal has a first portion to be in contact with the joining member and also has a second portion being continuous with the first portion. A method and device for emitting electromagnetic radiation at high power using nonpolar or semipolar gallium containing substrates such as GaN, AlN, InN, InGaN, AlGaN, and AlInGaN, is provided. In various embodiments, the laser device includes plural laser emitters emitting green or blue laser light, integrated a substrate.
LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE
A light emitting device includes a plurality of semiconductor laser elements, a frame part, a light-reflective member, a plurality of wires, and first and second protective elements. The frame part has a pair of first inner lateral surfaces and a second inner surface. The light-reflective member is configured to reflect laser light traveling from at least one of the plurality of semiconductor laser elements toward one of the first inner lateral surfaces of the frame part. The wires electrically connect the semiconductor laser elements respectively to an upper surface of the frame part. The first and second protective elements are disposed on the upper surface of the frame part in an area of the upper surface along the second inner surface. At least one of the wires is bonded on an area of the upper surface between the first and second protective elements.
LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE
A light emitting device includes a plurality of semiconductor laser elements, a frame part, a light-reflective member, a plurality of wires, and first and second protective elements. The frame part has a pair of first inner lateral surfaces and a second inner surface. The light-reflective member is configured to reflect laser light traveling from at least one of the plurality of semiconductor laser elements toward one of the first inner lateral surfaces of the frame part. The wires electrically connect the semiconductor laser elements respectively to an upper surface of the frame part. The first and second protective elements are disposed on the upper surface of the frame part in an area of the upper surface along the second inner surface. At least one of the wires is bonded on an area of the upper surface between the first and second protective elements.
OPTICAL APPARATUS
An optical apparatus includes: an optical component opposed to and spaced apart from a light-emitting surface through which laser light is emitted; a case that houses a semiconductor laser element and the optical component and includes an introduction port for introducing gas and an exhaust port for exhausting the gas; and a flow passage section (i.e., a tubular body) including a spray port for spraying the semiconductor laser element with the gas introduced from the introduction port.

The light-emitting chip includes a plurality of first protrusions and/or a plurality of first depressions, the plurality of first protrusions and/or the plurality of first depressions are located on a first surface of the light-emitting chip; the heat sink includes a plurality of second depressions and/or a plurality of second protrusions, the plurality of second depressions and/or the plurality of second protrusions are located on a second surface of the heat sink; the plurality of first protrusions are located in the plurality of second depressions, and the plurality of second protrusions are located in the plurality of first depressions.
