Stripping Tool and Method for Stripping
20180109086 · 2018-04-19 ·

The invention relates to a stripping tool, in particular stripping pliers. The stripping tool is here used for a multi-wired cable. According to the invention two pairs of stripping blades are used in the stripping tool. The two pairs of stripping blades are moved in preferably parallel planes (60, 61) besides one another. According to the invention it is possible to simultaneously strip the insulations of e.g. four conductors of a four-wired cable.

Conductor monitor device and method

An illustrative example conductor monitoring device includes a generator configured to radiate a field into a conductor. A detector is configured to detect at least some of the field propagated along the conductor. A processor is configured to determine when a change in the propagated field detected by the detector indicates contact between the conductor and a conductive blade of a wire processing machine. The example conductor monitoring device is capable of providing information regarding the condition of a conductor that has gone through a wire handling process that involves cutting the wire and stripping insulation from near the end of the cut wire, for example. The information regarding the condition of the wire is obtained without making contact with the wire and without interfering with or requiring any alteration of the wire handling process or machine.

ELECTRICAL POWER CABLE PREPARATION SYSTEM

Techniques, systems and articles are described for preparing electrical cables for connections to a power grid. In one example, a system includes a cable preparation device configured to cut one or more layers of an electrical cable and a computing device configured to control the cable preparation device to cut the one or more layers of the electrical cable. The computing device may determine one or more target cutting distances and determine whether an actual cutting distance satisfies the target cutting distance. The computing device may detect defects in the electrical cable. The computing device may further determine whether the cable preparation device should be serviced.

Insulating film removal method, insulating film removal apparatus, and rectangular conductor

An insulating film removal method according to the present disclosure includes first, second, and third removal steps. In the first removal step, an insulating film coated on a junction surface and an opposed surface opposed to the junction surface is removed, the junction surface being a surface where a rectangular conductor is joined with another rectangular conductor. In the second removal step, a corner of the rectangular conductor is removed so that a burr is formed on the junction surface and a side surface, the side surface adjoining the junction surface and the opposed surface. In the third removal step, the insulating film coated on the side surface is removed so that a burr is formed on the junction surface side.

SEPARATING AND INSULATION REMOVAL DEVICE FOR A CABLE-PROCESSING MACHINE

A separating and/or insulation removal device for a cable-processing machine has at least two knife blocks that can be moved in opposite directions, each with at least one knife. A cable that is to be cut to length and/or is to have its insulation removed can be guided between the knives, which are actuated by at least one drive for at least one of the knife blocks, and a mechanism for purposes of guiding at least the driven knife block in the direction towards the cable. The drive acts at least indirectly on an element of the mechanism. Each driven knife block sits on a lever at a distance from its lever axis and executes a pivotal movement along a circular arc. For this purpose, the drive engages with the lever via a rotatable force transmission element at a distance from the lever axis and the knife block.
