Equalizer and transmitter including the same
An integrated circuit for generating an equalized signal, according to a channel, from serial data includes a shift register that extracts a symbol sequence from the serial data. A data storage stores values of an equalized digital signal corresponding to potential symbol sequences corresponding to a filter coefficient sequence. A lookup table outputs the equalized digital signal of a value corresponding to the extracted symbol sequence. A digital-to-analog converter (DAC) converts the equalized digital signal into the equalized signal. A controller refreshes the lookup table, based on at least one of values stored in the data storage and values included in the lookup table, in response to a control signal.
HIGH-RATE DECIMATION FILTER WITH LOW HARDWARE COMPLEXITY
A Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter that reduces the complexity of the hardware required for a filter with a high decimation factor while achieving similar performance of prior art poly-phase filters of greater complexity. The FIR filter includes a small number of multiply-and-accumulate (MAC) units connected in parallel to each other between an input stream and an output stream. The MAC units are provided with coefficients from a memory. In an example implementation, the memory is addressed by a counter and the output of the memory selected by a multiplexer for suppling the coefficients.
LOW POWER FINITE IMPULSE RESPONSE FILTER
A finite impulse response (FIR) filter includes a plurality of registers. The data input terminal of each register is directly coupled to the input of the FIR filter. A new data value is passed to each register on each clock cycle of a filter clock signal. Only one of the registers processes the data value on each clock cycle. A ring counter is coupled to the registers and determines which register processes the data value on each dock cycle.
Elimination method for common sub-expression
A common sub-expression elimination method for simplifying hardware logic of a hardware filter circuit by eliminating a common sub-expression included in a plurality of sub-expressions is provided. Each of the sub-expressions includes a corresponding two or more of inputs constituting a plurality of coefficients used by the hardware filter circuit. The method is implemented on a computing device and includes: identifying for each coefficient of the plurality of coefficients, a combination of the inputs constituting the coefficient; counting occurrences of the sub-expressions in each of the coefficients; identifying one or more of the sub-expressions having a maximum one of the counts and including the corresponding two or more of the inputs; selecting one of the one or more of the sub-expressions as the common sub-expression; eliminating the common sub-expression; and repeating these steps to eliminate more of the sub-expressions common to multiple ones of the coefficients.
FILTER DEVICE
A filter device includes: delay units serially connected to delay an input signal and output a delayed signal; multiplication units multiplying the delayed signal by a filter coefficient based on a predetermined value and a multiplying factor adjustment value; a coefficient adjustment unit that, when a multiplication result obtained by multiplying the predetermined value by the multiplying factor adjustment value exceeds a maximum value of a filter-coefficient representation range, divides the multiplication result exceeding the maximum value by the maximum value, and outputs a quotient of division as a coefficient adjustment value; a signal conversion unit outputting a signal obtained by adding after-filter-coefficient-multiplication signals outputted by the multiplication units and an adjusted signal obtained by adjusting a corresponding delayed signal using the coefficient adjustment value; and a division unit generating an output signal by dividing the signal outputted by the signal conversion unit by the multiplying factor adjustment value.
CONFIGURABLE MULTIPLIER-FREE MULTIRATE FILTER
A finite impulse response (FIR) filter including a delay line and a plurality of arithmetic units. Each arithmetic unit is coupled to a different one of a plurality of tap points of the delay line, is configured to receive a respective signal value over the delay line, and is associated with a respective coefficient. Any given one of the arithmetic units is configured to receive a respective control word. The respective control word specifying: (i) a plurality of trivial multiplication operations, and (ii) a plurality of bit shift operations. Any given one of the arithmetic units is further configured to estimate or calculate a product of the respective signal of the arithmetic unit respective signal value and the respective coefficient of the arithmetic unit by performing the trivial multiplication operations and bit shift operations that are specified by the respective control word that is received at the given arithmetic unit.
SIGNAL PROCESSING APPARATUS, MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING APPARATUS, AND SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD
A signal processing apparatus according to the present embodiment computes a first integral value corresponding to an element in a coefficient sequence of a first input sequence and a second integral value corresponding to the element in a coefficient sequence of a second input sequence next to the first input sequence, and includes a processing circuitry. The processing circuitry adds a value not overlapping the first input sequence in the second input sequence to the first integral value and subtracts a value not overlapping the second input sequence in the first input sequence from the first integral value for the element, thereby computing the second integral value.
Filter coefficient updating in time domain filtering
Example embodiments disclosed herein relate to filter coefficient updating in time domain filtering. A method of processing an audio signal is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a predetermined number of target gains for a first portion of the audio signal by analyzing the first portion of the audio signal. Each of the target gains is corresponding to a subband of the audio signal. The method also includes determining filter coefficients for time domain filtering the first portion of the audio signal so as to approximate a frequency response given by the target gains. The filter coefficients are determined by iteratively selecting at least one target gain from the target gains and updating the filter coefficient based on the selected at least one target gain. Corresponding system and computer program product for processing an audio signal are also disclosed.

A method includes receiving an input signal at a filter, where the filter includes a plurality of filter taps, and where each of a first filter tap and a second filter tap has a weighting coefficient. The method also includes shutting down the first filter tap based on the weighting coefficient of the first filter tap being below a threshold and the weighting coefficient of the second filter tap being below the threshold, where the second filter tap is next to the first filter tap.
