An electrical connector comprises an interface element attachable to a circuit board and a plurality of peripheral connectors. The interface element has an inner contact electrically contacting the circuit board and a connecting interface. The peripheral connectors are each individually matable with the connecting interface. The peripheral connectors include a peripheral plug connector having a plurality of plug connector pins and a peripheral lead connector having a plurality of wires.

Estimation of gap between a proximity sensor and target

A method is provided for sensing proximity of a target. The method includes sensing inductance associated with a magnetic field, wherein the inductance is affected by the target when the target is proximate the magnetic field. The method further includes providing the sensed inductance for processing. The processing includes determining an inductance value from at least the sensed inductance and estimating a parameter of a gap between a location of sensing the inductance and the target as a function of the inductance value and application of a nonlinear model of a relationship between the gap and inductance.

The receiving coils and transmitting coil are each formed from a group of at least two individual coils on carrier boards, which are arranged parallel to one another. The carrier boards have a diameter which is smaller than or equal to 10 mm, and a winding of the receiving coils or the transmitting coil has a cross-sectional geometry in which a ratio of a base width to a height lies in the range from 0.2 to 0.3. An embodiment of a method for detecting an object using an inductive proximity sensor includes generating an alternating field using a transmitting coil of the proximity sensor and sensing, using two receiving coils of the inductive proximity sensor, a change in the alternating field caused by proximity of the object.

Techniques are disclosed relating to sensing an object using an inductive proximity sensor. In an embodiment, an apparatus includes a transmission coil having turns formed on a first circuit board and including a first primary winding having a first winding direction. The apparatus further includes a first sensor coil having turns formed on a second circuit board and including a second primary winding having a second winding direction and a second sensor coil having turns formed on a third circuit board and including a third primary winding having a third winding direction opposite to the second winding direction. The coils are spaced apart from one another in a common axial direction and at least one of the coils includes a compensation winding having at least one turn, where the compensation winding is arranged radially outside of, and has a winding direction opposite to, the same coil's primary winding.

Provided is a proximity sensor that can limit degradation in voltage resistance. A proximity sensor includes: a housing; a coil portion that is accommodated in one end of the housing; a clamp portion that is connected to the other end of the housing; a substrate which is accommodated inside the housing and the clamp portion, and on which a circuit electrically connected to the coil portion is mounted; a shield that covers a part of the substrate located on a side of the housing; and a resin portion which is arranged inside the housing and the clamp portion, and covers at least a part of the substrate. The shield has an extension portion which extends to an inside of the clamp portion and covers at least a part of the circuit located inside the clamp portion.

The devise uses a housing in combination with a sensor and axially magnetized magnet and a target magnet to achieve the increased detection distance and position. The devise can be defined as universal because it allows different manufacturers and sizes of sensors to be used and calibrated. A treaded end section of the devise allows connection of standard conduit fittings.

A method operates the sensor element. The shielding of the sensor element further contains a flange which is provided on the front face of the sensor element, is connected to the shielding cup in an electrically conductive manner, and completely surrounds the coil arrangement.
