Delay Sensitive Network Estimation System
20230051166 · 2023-02-16 ·

A network traffic management system prepares a map showing network delays updated through the transmission of regularly time-stamped messages. This map is then employed to prioritize packets, address quality of service requirements, or drop expired/expiring packets.

Traffic detection method, apparatus, and system

A traffic detection method, apparatus, and system are provided. A first network device obtains a packet, where the packet is any packet of the traffic. The first network device adds a detection flag and detection indication information to the packet to update the packet, where the detection flag is used to indicate a position of the detection indication information, where the detection indication information includes a first flag, and the first flag is used to indicate whether the traffic is to-be-detected traffic. The first network device sends an updated packet to a second network device. According to this method, traffic performance is detected, and flexibility and extensiveness of traffic performance detection are improved.

Learning technique for QoS based classification and prioritization of SAAS applications

The systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed towards a dynamic system that is configured to identify and map networked traffic, such as that of video, voice, file transfer, and web based applications to predetermined Quality of Service (QoS) classes. The different QoS classes can be associated with different traffic priorities. The networked traffic can be encrypted, which can prevent an intermediate device from processing or otherwise reading the packet headers of the traffic. The systems and methods of the present disclosure can predict QoS classes for encrypted traffic based on traffic patterns and other characteristics of the encrypted traffic.

COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

A communication method and apparatus. A user plane network element perform refined differentiated processing on different data packets to adapt to and meet different user requirements and network conditions. A first user plane network element receives a first data packet, where the first data packet carries first indication information. The first user plane network element processes the first data packet based on the first indication information. The first indication information includes one or more of the following: synchronous transmission indication information, packet discard indication information, data type indication information, charging indication information, statistics indication information, or priority indication information.

Advertising network layer reachability information specifying a quality of service for an identified network flow

Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for advertising network layer reachability information specifying a quality of service for an identified network flow are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein to specify quality of service for network flows include receiving network layer reachability information including a first quality of service class specified for a first network flow, the network layer reachability information having been advertised by a first network element that is to receive the first network flow. Such example methods can also include updating an incoming packet determined to belong to the first network flow to indicate that the incoming packet belongs to the first quality of service class, the incoming packet being received from a second network element. Such example methods can further include, after updating the incoming packet, routing the incoming packet towards the first network element.

Utilizing service tagging for encrypted flow classification

In one embodiment, a device in a network receives domain name system (DNS) information for a domain. The DNS information includes one or more service tags indicative of one or more services offered by the domain. The device detects an encrypted traffic flow associated with the domain. The device identifies a service associated with the encrypted traffic flow based on the one or more service tags. The device prioritizes the encrypted traffic flow based on the identified service associated with the encrypted traffic flow.

CONFIGURABLE PARSER AND A METHOD FOR PARSING INFORMATION UNITS

A packet processing technique can include receiving a packet, and parsing the packet based on a protocol field to generate a parse result vector. The parse result vector is used to select between forwarding the packet to a virtual machine executing on a host processing integrated circuit, forwarding the packet to a physical media access controller, multicasting the packet to multiple virtual machines executing on the host processing integrated circuit, and sending the packet to a hypervisor.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FORWARDING PRIORITY TAG ACROSS NETWORK SEGMENTS
20230021886 · 2023-01-26 ·

The present disclosure provides a method and device for forwarding a priority tag across network segments. The method includes the following steps: performing networking by using a Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) interface to form a network; enabling a VLAN Class Of Service (COS) and differentiated service code point in a priority tag of a message transmitted in the network to correspond to each other; in response to layer-3 forwarding of the message, using the differentiated service code point priority tag for the message, and copying a VLAN COS value of the message at an entry of a switch to a VLAN COS value of the message at an exit; and in response to subsequent layer-2 forwarding of the message, using the VLAN COS priority tag for the message to distinguish a priority of the message.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING NETWORK TRAFFIC USING FAIR-SHARE PRINCIPLES

A system and method for managing network traffic in a distributed environment. the system including: a plurality of logic modules configured to determine policy data related to bandwidth management and at least one split criteria for a basis for shaping network traffic; a control processor associated with each one of the plurality of logic modules, each control processor configured to determine data associated with each of a plurality of traffic flows at the associated logic module and to coordinate traffic actions over the plurality of logic modules; a packet processor associated with each control processor and configured to determine a traffic action based on each traffic flow and received policy data; and at least two shaper objects configured to receive a split of the traffic flows and enforce the determined traffic action on their respective traffic flow.
