Establishing And Managing Connections For Real Time Communications

Methods and systems related to supporting real time communications are disclosed. In one type of a real time communication session, prior to an offer and acceptance to perform real time communications, a communication channel may be established between a caller device and a callee device. Information related to addresses of the caller and callee devices can be contained in, or pointed to, by a Universal Resource Locators (URLs) for the caller and callee devices. A network computing device may communicate messages relating to establishing and maintaining the communication channel between the caller and callee devices. In a scenario where the network computing device becomes unavailable, another network computing device can use the URLs and other channel information that may be stored in the database, to handle messages. In one embodiment, messages identify the caller or callee devices, to which each message is directed, using target URLs (caller and callee URLs), which reduces the need to access information related to the intended target.

Terminal, service method and integrated identifier management system for integrated identifier and user interface

A method of intuitively recognizing and using an integrated identification function by users by additionally displaying variable URI access menus on the existing user screen of the integrated identifier, and this is accomplished through an integrated identifier management system and a service method, which include: address servers for storing, managing and processing URIs (address) mapped to an integrated identifier and related information; a terminal for variably displaying a plurality of URI access menus on an integrated identifier user screen according to an address status (integrated identifier information, URI information, display information, and matching information) registered in the address servers; and a process for processing an integrated identification service through communication between the terminal and the address servers.

METHOD AND SYSTEM IN PAIRING A UNIQUE ALPHANUMERIC NAME/S TO ANY CALLABLE NUMBER OR SIP ACCOUNT TO GENERATE UNIQUE AND EASY TO REMEMBER URL CALLING LINK FOR REAL TIME COMMUNICATION PURPOSES
20200137025 · 2020-04-30 ·

A system and method of enabling callers to generate and use unique alphanumeric name or names appended to a domain name or use as domain name itself, when paired to the destination device, to enable a calling device to communicate with a destination device over the internet without dialing the destination device common mobile number.

Systems and methods for conference calling using personal URL
10455191 · 2019-10-22 · ·

Systems and methods are disclosed for managing conference calling using a URL assigned to a conference call organizer. One method includes receiving, from a conference call organizer, a request to be placed into a conference call associated with a URL assigned to the organizer; and receiving, from a prospective conference call participant, a request to be placed into the conference call associated with the URL. Another method includes receiving, from a first user, through a web page of a URL assigned to the first user, a first phone number at which the first user can be called; receiving, from a second user, through the web page of the URL, a second phone number at which the second user can be called; and initiating phone calls to the first user at the first number and the second user at the second number.

Method and apparatus for processing a call to an aggregate endpoint device

A method and an apparatus for processing a call to an aggregate endpoint device over a network are disclosed. For example, the method receives a session request by a Serving-Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF), wherein a route header for the session request comprises an aggregate endpoint identifier, and interacts with an application server to receive a Public User Identity (PUID) of the aggregate endpoint device in accordance with the aggregate endpoint identifier. The method performs a termination processing for the session request using the PUID of the aggregate endpoint device, and forwards the session request towards the aggregate endpoint device.

Emergency calling with a telephony application
10129326 · 2018-11-13 · ·

Techniques are disclosed for implementing emergency calling with a telephony application. In some examples, an application that executes on a user device provides voice communication functionality. Where a user attempts to contact an emergency number via this application (e.g., 911), the application can first determine whether the application is executing on a mobile phone or on a tablet. Where the application is executing on a mobile phone, the application can invoke a telephone dialer functionality provided by the mobile device to call the emergency service. Where the application is executing on a tablet, the application can access the emergency service via a uniform resource name for the emergency service.

Geographic policy routing function
09641679 · 2017-05-02 · ·

A policy routing function (PRF) allows requests for emergency services (e.g., 9-1-1 calls, text messages to 9-1-1, etc.) dynamically routed to an emergency responder based on rules and/or user defined geographic overrides in support of Next Generation 9-1-1. Each user provided geographic polygon layer within this data set is represented by one or more polygons, with each polygon containing routing criteria, routing rules, priority, and expiration parameters. This geographic data set may also have a base geographic polygon layer of one or more polygons that define the normal or default routing conditions. Utilizing a user provided geographic data set the PRF interrogates an emergency caller's location against the polygon(s) and applies the routing rules of the highest level geographic polygon layer polygon that has a true routing condition.
