METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INTELLIGENT ROUTING OF AN INCOMING CALL OVER A DUAL TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK
20170374600 · 2017-12-28 ·

Present invention refers to a method and a system for intelligent routing of an incoming call over a dual telecommunication network supporting both CS and PS connections, comprising: initiating, from a call router server, a CS call establishment connection; at roughly the same time, sending, a push message over the PS connection to a callee's mobile device; as result of receiving the push message, registering said callee's mobile device into the call router server; providing the call router server with a measure of quality of a PS connection; and in the event of receiving, at the call router server, an unreachable notification from the CS connection and the measure of quality is higher than a pre-established minimum value, routing the incoming call through the PS connection.

RELIABLE CALL HAND-OFF FROM CELLULAR NETWORKS TO WI-FI NETWORKS
20170289885 · 2017-10-05 ·

Reliable call hand-offs from a cellular network to a Wi-Fi network. A hand-off controller detects a hand-off condition (e.g., hand-off request, potential/predicted hand-off request) and, in response, initiates a test call. For example, a telephone call made through a smart phone, using a cellular network (e.g., Verizon, AT&T or Sprint) can be handed over to a hot spot at a Starbucks. In response to detecting an available data network, transmission quality for VOIP conditions is automatically tested. If the network conditions meet a certain predetermined threshold, the VOIP hand-off is executed. If the predetermined threshold is not met, the VOIP hand-off may not be executed, or may be delayed.

Telecommunication system for automatically locating by network connection and selectively delivering calls to mobile client devices

A communication system for an organization having multiple sites uses a dual-mode device capable of both cell phone communication and telephone communication on a local area network (LAN). IP LANS are established at organization sites such that a temporary IP address is assigned to a dual-mode device that logs onto an organization LAN, and the IP address is associated at a PSTN-connected server on the LAN with the cell phone number of the communication device. The IP server notifies a PSTN-connected routing server when a device logs on to a LAN, and also provides a destination number for the IP server. Cell calls directed to the device are then redirected to the IP server and directed to the device connected to the LAN.

User call quality improvement

The disclosed system provides a facility for improving user call quality at a mobile device. The system includes an over-the-top (OTT) client that may be installed on the mobile device for allowing a user to initiate call quality tests. The system performs a call quality test to generate a call quality score or metric from the obtained audio sample via a Call Quality Algorithm. If the call quality score or metric falls below a predetermined threshold, the system may suggest (via the OTT client or via a push notification) that the user of the mobile device switch from the first communication interface (e.g., a radio network such as 4G) to a second communication interface (e.g., Wi-Fi) on the mobile device. The disclosed system tracks the call quality score or metric of multiple mobile devices operating within a telecommunications network, identifies service outages within the network, and notifies impacted mobile devices.

A terminal can have at least one audio interface for at least one microphone, at least one audio interface for at least one speaker, an operator control module and at least one interface for connecting to at least one telephony- and/or IP-telephony-compatible terminal. The terminal can be configured as a media hub for the at least one telephony- or IP-telephony-compatible terminal. The terminal can have a media processing unit for mixing and a media hub controller or controlling media streams received by the at least one telephony- or IP-telephony-compatible terminal and the at least one telephony- or IP-telephony-compatible terminal can be operated through the operator control module of the telecommunication terminal. A method for controlling media streams through a media hub controlled integrated into a telecommunication terminal is also disclosed.

Customer profile and billing lifecycle management in connected endpoints in wireless communication networks

Systems and methods discussed herein are directed to managing customer Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and embedded SIM (eSIM) profiles and allocated Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Numbers (MSISDN) for connected devices, e.g., cars, in different use-cases. For example, in configurations, users may have a primary electronic device, e.g., a mobile phone having a primary MSISDN.sub.PRIMARY that is instantiated on a primary Integrated Circuit Card Identifier (ICCID), ICCID.sub.PRIMARY in the billing system of a wireless communication network. When the user has a secondary device paired with the mobile phone, that secondary device may have a secondary MSISDN.sub.SECONDARY that is activated with a secondary ICCID.sub.SECONDARY in the billing system. Thus, the secondary device may be used by the user in conjunction with the primary device and is paired with the primary device such that incoming calls are forked to both the primary device and the secondary device.

A user equipment (UE), which is able to use a plurality of different wireless access technologies, receives a request to establish a voice call. The UE determines whether voice over a first wireless access technology of the different wireless access technologies is supported, and responsive to determining that voice over the first wireless access technology is not supported, the UE attempts to establish the voice call over a second wireless access technology of the different wireless access technologies.
