A system and method for notifying a called party of a call attempt is provided. The method comprises initiating a communication request by a calling party; routing the communication request to an intelligent network via an mobile service center; validating the communication request by the intelligent network; and handing over the communication request to an intelligent platform by the intelligent network in the event of a nonstandard trigger event such as calling party insufficient balance. The processing of communication request by the intelligent platform includes monitoring number of call attempts, introducing a delay in sending notification, monitoring availability of called party and performing one or more actions based on the delay and the availability of the called party.

A presence server in a network can receive capability information about a UE in a publish message, and make that capability information available to other UEs on the network. When the UE later deregisters from the network, the UE can send an unpublish message. However, the presence server can at least partially disregard the unpublish message and continue to make the capability information about the UE available to other UEs. The presence server can also filter capability information of one or more target UEs provided to a watcher UE based on a registration status of a target UE, capabilities of the watcher UE, and/or whether a set of target UEs associated with a single user share certain capabilities.

A system and method for communicating presence information that can include at a first server of a communication platform, receiving an authorization token of a first client application; verifying at least one permission associated with the authorization token; registering a presence status of the first client application upon verifying the at least one permission of the authorization token; at a second server of the communication platform, accepting an incoming communication request; retrieving communication instructions according to the incoming communication request; identifying an instruction to communicate with a communication destination of the first client application; accessing the presence status resource of the first client application; establishing communication with the first client application according to the accessed presence status resource.

A velocity of a device of a user is detected using one or more sensors of the device. If the detected velocity is within a first range, a determination is made that the user is driving. A presence update is transmitted to a server based on the detected velocity. The detected velocity may include altitude data. The server receives the presence update and updates a presence status based on the presence update. The server transmits a user interface (UI) output to a second device to update a user presence indication on a display of the second device.

A method for routing civilian calls to a public-safety officer is provided herein. During operation, a call processor receives a civilian call having a source identifier number identifying a source of the call and a target identifier number identifying a target of the call. A public-safety officer is determined that is the target of the call and a public-safety officer status database is accessed to determine a current status of the public-safety officer. When the officer is able to take the call, the call is routed directly to the officer. When the officer is unable to take the call, the officer status database is accessed, and a best available officer to take the call is determined. The call is then routed to the best available officer that is able to take the call.

An apparatus comprising an infotainment system including a proactive automotive assistant that executes a first action and a second action, wherein the first action is that of permitting spontaneous communication to an occupant in a vehicle and the second action is that of providing information indicating that spontaneous communication with the occupant is impermissible. The automotive assistant is configured to receive information selected from the group consisting of vehicle-status information concerning operation of the vehicle and occupant-status information concerning the occupant and to base the first and second actions at least in part on the information.

An apparatus is capable of sharing information through a presence service in a communication network and capable of providing presence information of a Mobile Station (MS). The apparatus extracts at least one of application information and contents indication information from an application in execution. Presence information is generated that includes at least one of the application information and the contents indication information, and transmitting the presence information to a presence server.

A method for communicating location information to a device includes receiving, at a computer system that implements a social networking service, location information that represents a geographic location of a device associated with a first user; associating, by the computer system, the received location information with a profile associated with the first user; and sending, from the computer system to a device associated with a second user, a message that is generated based at least in part on the location information.

The control device is configured to perform a conversation desire display process to display a conversation desire level of each of the passengers. Alternatively, the control device is configured to perform a conversation intention display process to display a conversation intention of each of the passengers for the other passengers. The conversation desire level and the conversation intention among passengers are input to the input device provided in the display system, by an operation of the passenger. Alternatively, they are estimated by the control device based on the passenger state information detected by the sensor provided in the display system.
