Location updates for call routing decisions
11553091 · 2023-01-10 · ·

A server is configured to provide data communications services to a plurality of endpoint devices. Geolocation information identifying a first geographic location of the particular endpoint device is received at the server and from an application running on an endpoint device. A second geographic location for an IP address is compared to the first geographic location. In response to a mismatch between the compared geographic locations, a location database is modified to include an entry specifying that the particular endpoint device is located at the first geographic location. For an outgoing telephone call from the endpoint device, the modified entry is used to select a telephone carrier. The outgoing telephone call is routed using the selected telephone carrier.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, SCREEN DISPLAYING METHOD, AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

An information processing apparatus is provided for communicating with another information processing apparatus in a different site by using at least one of a plurality of communication platforms. The information processing apparatus includes: a receiving unit configured to receive a transmission image that has been transmitted from the another information processing apparatus in the different site; a displaying unit configured to display on a display device the transmission image that has been received by the receiving unit; and a reading unit configured to read an image to be displayed from an image storing unit configured to store the image to be displayed. For at least a certain period while the one of the communication platform is being switched to another one, the displaying unit displays, in place of the transmission image, the image to be displayed that has been read by the reading unit.

Dual compatibility phone system

A method of operating a captioned telephone comprising the steps of dialing a telephone number to a relay gateway, connecting to the gateway over a communication network, performing a test to assess communication network quality, based on the test results, setting up the captioned telephone to operate in at least one of a first mode and a second mode wherein each of the first and second modes is one of (i) a PSTN mode in which data is communicated between the captioned telephone and the relay gateway via analog transmission and (ii) an IP mode in which data is communicated between the captioned telephone and the relay gateway via the Internet.

OPTIMIZED ROUTING FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SUPPORT

An improved lawful intercept (LI) infrastructure is described. In response to a valid LI provisioning request, a subscriber management component statically allocates a user equipment (UE) subject to the LI provisioning request to an edge location comprising a high-speed gateway and a Mediation and Delivery Function (MDF), which coordinates the delivery of intercepted communications. The subscriber management component maintains this allocation for the life of the LI provisioning request and reverses the UE to a dynamic gateway allocation scheme when the LI provisioning request ends. As a result, only a subset of edge locations must be equipped with MDFs, and the handover is transparent to the UE.

Global bridge out dial

An example home bridge may perform receiving an out dial call from a user, parsing a call number to determine a country code, querying a bridge location database to determine a closest designated bridge to a country associated with the country code, providing to the designated bridge out dial data for the call, and lending the out dial call at the designated bridge.

Dynamic direction of incoming calls

Apparatus and methods concerning call routing are disclosed. In an example embodiment, a call alert message, indicative of the call answer options, is communicated from a data-communications server to the communication device, determined in response to receiving an incoming call for a communication device at the server. A selected option is received from the communication device. In response to the selected option indicating the first call answer option, the call is routed to the communication device as a call via a data network or in response to the selected option indicating the second call answer option, the call is routed to the communication device via a PSTN.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VOICE CALL CONNECTION FROM AN OTT NETWORK
20230071546 · 2023-03-09 · ·

A system comprising: at least one hardware processor; and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored thereon program code, the program code executable by the at least one hardware processor to: receive, by an over-the-top (OTT) network server, from an OTT terminal application (OTA), a request to establish voice communication with a known external service; access, by said OTT network server, a database which comprises at least one routing option associated with said known external service; select, by said OTT network server, one of said routing options for establishing said voice communication; and establish said voice communication with said known external service using said selected routing option.

Using secondary channel information to provide for gateway recording

Systems and methods for using secondary communication channel information, such as RTCP information to facilitate correlating business information to allow gateway recording. Using information in this secondary communication channel the recording system can correlate the business metadata either directly (e.g., using a phone extension) or through one or more indirect operations (e.g., a call ID-to-universal call id-to-phone extension). Additionally, information in the primary communication channel may be used to perform an indirect operation to correlate auxiliary business information (e.g., using the CALLID or UCID in SIP signaling to resolve the agent's phone extension and thereby access auxiliary business information.)

SYSTEM AND METHODS THEREOF FOR OPTIMIZING COMMUNICATION BETWEEN A CIVILIAN AND DIFFERENT DISPATCHERS
20170366387 · 2017-12-21 · ·

A system for optimizing communication between civilians and authorities. The system enables optimal routing of message delivery from civilians to different dispatchers. The system enables adaptive optimization of the delivery of such messages by continuously identifying data collected by an agent installed on a user device. The messages typically comprise one or more portions, such as data, call, multimedia, etc. The system further identifies the communication target to which the message is sent. The system then determines an optimal route for sending each of the portions of the message. According to an embodiment, the determination may further be made based on metadata associated with the location of the user device. Then, each portion of the message is sent to the communication target via the optimal route.
