Automatically configuring a portable electronic device for accessing a site on a public network is disclosed. The method and system include establishing a connection to at least one server for establishing and maintaining website accounts, and sending information uniquely identifying the electronic device to the at least one server. The at least one server sends user account information to the device, including an account ID and password, created based on the electronic device information. The user account information is stored on the device for use the next time the device accesses the website, whereby the user does not have to enter account information in order to establish the ISP connection or the website account before accessing the public network or, if the user account is not completely set up, to establish the user account a next time the device connects to the at least one server.

A method, computer program product and computer system are provided to promote device usage compliance. A processor retrieves a current position for a device. A processor determines at least one nearby location based on the current position of the device. A processor retrieves search data regarding the at least one nearby location. A processor determines compliance information regarding the at least one location based, at least in part, on the search data. There is provided a control method for a data processing system, the control method including: registering connection destination information for accessing a cloud service; storing in a storage unit, for each user, information indicating whether or not to allow use of the cloud service; authenticating a user; determining, on the basis of the information stored in the storage unit, whether or not the user authenticated in the authenticating is allowed to use the cloud service; and displaying no object for transmitting data to the cloud service by using the connection destination information when the user is determined in the determining to not be allowed to use the cloud service, and displaying an object for transmitting data to the cloud service by using the connection destination information when the user is determined in the determining to be allowed to use the cloud service.

The invention includes a print terminal that prints input image data and outputs the input image data as a print image, and an image storage server that is connected to the print terminal via a public network, and that stores the image data sent from the print terminal and user identification information. The print terminal creates, out of the print image, user identification information based on photographing location information and photographing date/time information included as data in a user identification information image specified by the user. In a case where the print terminal receives a re-input of image data of the user identification information image, the print terminal resends user identification information to the image storage server. In a case where an image directory including the resent user identification information internally exists, the image storage server sends the image data in the image directory to the print terminal.

A photo editing method using GPS coordinate information is disclosed. The present invention comprises the steps of: allowing a photo file editing server to receive at least one photo file through a user terminal; allowing the photo file editing server to receive a designated range of photo files of a specific time zone from the user terminal; allowing the photo file editing server to extract the date and GPS coordinate information of a photo so as to include a photo file included in the range of the specific time zone; and allowing the photo file editing server to arrange the selected photo file in a background draft, which is set in GPS coordinate information proximate to the extracted GPS coordinate information of the photo file among background drafts stored in a draft database.

This disclosure provides a self-contained imaging device that takes digital photographs of portions of documents (such as photos or photo albums) instead of scanning those images. The imaging device uses a lens to zoom in on specific portions of the document that represent images that are to be digitized. Generally speaking, disclosed embodiments utilize a physical device having a housing, a location for retaining or holding an image to be imaged, such as a platen or image conveyance mechanism, a light source and the imaging system (which can be a digital camera). The disclosed device camera provides a low-cost mechanism that can at-once capture a high resolution image without the delays associated with most scanners.
