A multi-function device (MFD) is disclosed. For example, the MFD includes a communication interface to establish a communication path with a network, a user interface to display a plurality of fields associated with different settings of a configuration file of the MFD, a processor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a plurality of instructions. The instructions when executed by the processor cause the processor to detect selection of a field associated with a setting of the configuration file, establish a connection with at least one networked MFD on the network, query the at least one networked MFD for a value used in the field associated with the setting of the configuration file that is selected, receive the value from the at least one networked MFD, and populate the field with the value.

An information processing apparatus includes: an operating unit capable of recognizing a peripheral apparatus. The operating unit includes: a first recognizing unit configured to recognize, when a peripheral apparatus is connected to the operating unit and identification information about the connected peripheral apparatus is included in peripheral apparatus information including predetermined identification information, the connected peripheral apparatus as a first peripheral apparatus; and a second recognizing unit configured to recognize, when a peripheral apparatus is connected to the operating unit and the identification information about the connected peripheral apparatus is not included in the peripheral apparatus information, the connected peripheral apparatus as a second peripheral apparatus.

A digital camera with a printer is a digital camera with a printer and includes a communication unit that communicates with a digital camera with a printer that is another apparatus, and an image composition unit that generates a composite image in which a first image captured by the digital camera with a printer that is an owned apparatus and a second image captured by the other apparatus are composited, in which the communication unit transmits the composite image to the other apparatus. A user of the other apparatus can also obtain the composite image. Accordingly, the composite image can be enjoyed by capturing images using a plurality of cameras.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: acquire a processing request that includes a document; request an external server to perform a process included in the acquired processing request, the external server being connectable from the information processing apparatus and being responsible for performing the process; and transmit second information to an apparatus communicable with the information processing apparatus, the second information including first information to be used for acquiring a processed document serving as the document processed by the external server.

An information processing apparatus includes: a processor configured to transfer data of a received facsimile by referring to correspondence information in which a correspondence between a telephone number and identification information is registered, the identification information identifying a partner of communication by facsimile from or to the telephone number; and in a case where a facsimile transmission request has been received from a requester and a correspondence between identification information identifying the requester and a telephone number of a destination included in the facsimile transmission request is not registered in the correspondence information, additionally register the correspondence between the identification information and the telephone number in the correspondence information.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body and a moveable unit. The apparatus body includes an image forming device and a restriction portion. The moveable unit includes an image reading device and is detachably attached to the apparatus body. The moveable unit is opened and closed with respect to the apparatus body by rotation about a rotation shaft when the moveable unit is attached to the apparatus body. The moveable unit is attached to and detached from the apparatus body by moving in an axial direction of the rotation shaft. The moveable unit further includes a restricted portion that engages with the restriction portion that restricts a movement of the moveable unit in the axial direction. The restriction portion or the restricted portion further includes a deformation portion having elasticity. The deformation portion is deformed so that the moveable unit is attached to and detached from the apparatus body.

An image forming apparatus includes a setting unit, a displaying unit, a receiving unit, and a printing unit. The setting unit accepts designation of source information from a user and set the accepted source information in association with an object. The displaying unit displays the object. The receiving unit receives image data from an external apparatus. The printing unit prints an image on a sheet based on the image data received by the receiving unit. Upon selection of the object displayed on the displaying unit, the printing unit prints an image on a sheet based on the image data from among the image data received by the receiving unit, that is received from an external apparatus having source information corresponding to the source information associated with the object.

A display apparatus transmits a picture acquisition request for getting picture information to an external image apparatus connected through a predetermined interface to the display apparatus from the external image apparatus at predetermined intervals and gets a plurality of pieces of picture information from the external image apparatus to be displayed. The plurality of pictures may be switched at predetermined intervals, for example, to be displayed, so that the plurality of pictures may be displayed in a so-called slide show manner. A plurality of pictures for thumbnail may be produced from the plurality of pieces of picture information and be arranged together to be displayed in one picture screen of a display device.

The first controller of the image forming apparatus transmits first apparatus state information of the own image forming apparatus to the other image forming apparatus, and when second apparatus state information of the other image forming apparatus is received, stores the second apparatus state information in the storage device. The second controller of the information processing apparatus transmits an information collecting request to the image forming apparatus. When the information collecting request is received, the first controller transmits the first and second apparatus state information to the information processing apparatus. When the first and second apparatus state information are received, the second controller displays positions, functions, and power on states or off states of the own image forming apparatus and the other image forming apparatus indicated by the first and second apparatus state information on the display device.
