An imaging apparatus includes: a display unit configured to display on a display a live image of a subject and previously captured images; an image capturing unit configured to capture an image of the subject; and a recording unit configured to record in a recording medium the captured image of the subject which has been captured by the image capturing unit and the previously captured images in association with disposition information which includes a display position of the captured image of the subject and display positions of the previously captured images.

An electronic picture frame and an image display method thereof are provided. A display apparatus transmits a picture acquisition request for getting picture information to an external image apparatus connected through a predetermined interface to the display apparatus from the external image apparatus at predetermined intervals and gets a plurality of pieces of picture information from the external image apparatus to be displayed. The plurality of pictures may be switched at predetermined intervals, for example, to be displayed, so that the plurality of pictures may be displayed in a so-called slide show manner. A plurality of pictures for thumbnail may be produced from the plurality of pieces of picture information and be arranged together to be displayed in one picture screen of a display device.

A portable electronic device with a touch screen display for photo management is disclosed. One aspect of the invention involves a computer-implemented method in which the portable electronic device displays an array of thumbnail images corresponding to a set of photographic images. The device replaces the displayed array of thumbnail images with a user-selected photographic image upon detecting a user contact with a corresponding thumbnail image in the array. The user-selected photographic image is displayed at a larger scale than the corresponding thumbnail image. The portable device displays a different photographic image in replacement of the user-selected photographic image in accordance with a scrolling gesture. The scrolling gesture comprises a substantially horizontal movement of user contact with the touch screen display.

A family electronic album is created. Representative face images of a family are displayed. The representative face images are dragged and dropped onto corresponding areas among areas that identify family attributes (“father”, “mother”, etc.). Since the family attributes of the representative face images can be ascertained, the family attributes of face images that resemble these face images can be determined. Since images that include all family members and images that include some family members can be determined from among images that include face images the family attributes of which have been determined, these images are laid out in the electronic album.
